You will choose half of the 16 psychology classes you need to take for your major – a more thorough curriculum than many other programs.  Required courses include very popular topics like Abnormal Psychology and Developmental Psychology. You will also have the opportunity to declare a minor of your choice, to further tailor your education for your particular interests.

You will also learn how to conduct professional-level research, completing an independent senior research project – a great opportunity to join our growing number of published undergraduates.

In this program, you will study psychology alongside biology, chemistry, anatomy and physiology, making this an ideal first step into further studies in a variety of experimental psychology settings, neuroscience, health fields, and scientific research.

You will work closely with faculty to develop an avenue of career possibilities. First, you select a concentration option – pre-medical or graduate school – allowing you to adapt your curriculum to your career goals and interests.

You will also learn to conduct professional-level research, completing an independent research project your senior year. During your time in the program, you can further enrich your education with internships in research, legal and educational settings; or study abroad anywhere in the world.

Medical Dosimetry is part of radiation oncology. Under the direction of a medical physicist, Medical Dosimetrists utilize dedicated computers to design and calculate radiation plans for the treatment of cancer. A CT scan of the patient generates data which will be used in the treatment planning process. The dosimetrists work closely with the physician, physicist and radiation therapist.  People in this profession typically work nine hour workdays, from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., mainly working at a console, with a highly specialized computer.

Medical Dosimetrists work directly with critically ill inpatients and outpatients of all ages, from pediatrics to geriatrics. In addition to the actual treatment planning, the dosimetrists may assist in the fabrication of beam modifying and immobilization devices individualized for each patient.

According to Mark Reid, past president of the American Association of Medical Dosimetrists (AAMD), the demand for medical dosimetrists grows every time a new cancer center opens, making dosimetry a stable, well-compensated career.

The Sustainable Design program at Thomas Jefferson University was developed by a group of the country’s top sustainable designers and experienced sustainability professors. The result is an award-winning trans-disciplinary, collaborative design program. Students build problem-solving skills to develop market-driven solutions to become leaders in sustainable design to better serve society.

Our professors are comprised of theory-based full-time faculty and practicing professionals with diverse backgrounds in architecture, engineering, design, sustainability leadership, and construction management. Based on an integrated design education model, the program offers a unique advantage by introducing students early in the design process to experts, design options and real-world constraints.

Projects range from high performing sustainable design projects to sustainable initiatives for non-profits and start-ups. Industry partnerships feature prominently, providing networking opportunities and hands-on practice with real-world challenges. Strong integration with the design and sustainability community in Philadelphia provides students and graduates ample opportunities for internships, volunteer positions, and job placement.

Industrial design (ID) is about creating the future. You’ll learn how to design things that transform the lives of people worldwide: from human-powered washing machines for developing societies, to interactive car control systems; from better backpacks for airline travel, to MP3 players made from bamboo. It all starts with the design process, a way of thinking and working to develop strategies for innovation, propose more efficient systems and services, and create valued products.

Working in an open, collaborative studio environment, you’ll learn how to make drawings and 3D models, build prototypes and share ideas with others to learn from their input. You’ll create in a sustainable and responsible way, addressing the needs of the end user, the client, and the world as a whole. Participating in global design teams will sharpen your skills through travel and research. You’ll even collaborate on real projects with leading companies like Philips, Knoll, and Umbra.

You will be transformed into a fashion design professional through hands-on experience with computerized design and production equipment while also building a strong foundation in design and technical courses.

The TJU fashion design program prepares you to influence the fashion design world. Our alumni work as fashion professionals in all areas and levels of the fashion industry, following in the footsteps of our distinguished faculty who have served as leaders in both the design and production sides of the fashion industry. With such a strong network of fashion expertise, you will have plenty of opportunities to land coveted internships and start careers in companies including PVH, Lilly Pulitzer, Anthropologie, Free People, Coach, Nannette Lepore, BCBG Maxazria, Donna Karan, Tommy Hilfiger, Urban Outfitters, and Vogue Magazine.

The Master of Science in Microbiology & Immunology Program offers choices for career specialization with flexible schedules, professional training for academic credit and academic preparation for national professional certification.

The broad-based curriculum includes a minimum of 40 credits. Course content includes:

Thomas Jefferson University’s Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch) is a five-year professional degree program accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB). The Jefferson Communication program prepares students for today’s media marketplace through a broad-based education that emphasizes storytelling, critical thinking, creative problem-solving, and multimedia skills development.
