Optional Practical Training or OPT is a period during which students, who have completed their degrees in the USA, are permitted to work for one year on a student visa by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). OPT allows students to work for up to 3 years and develop real-world skills to survive in the competitive jobs market.
It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.

The Chemistry B.A. gives students exposure to analytical, inorganic, organic and physical chemistry while providing the flexibility to take additional elective courses. Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy
The M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy is designed for students who are seeking to become licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist. The program is a 60 credit hour terminal degree. Students will be trained and educated to be competent marriage and family therapists who will help to meet the growing job demand for the state of Florida.
The curriculum is based on Florida’s state licensure requirements, the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) Code of Ethics, Marriage and Family Therapy core competences, the Association of Marital and Family Therapy Regulatory Boards (AMFTRB) National licensure examination domains, and national accreditation standards from the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE).
A thesis option is available for students interested in pursuing a Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy after successfully completing the master’s degree. Graduates from the program will be employable in behavioral health agencies, private practice, hospitals, Veteran Affairs (VA), and both residential and outpatient facilities.

Mass Communications-M.A.
The Master of Arts in Mass Communications degree requires 39 credit hours, including at least 30 hours of structured coursework and successful completion of a final thesis or applied research project. The Master of Arts in Mass Communications is earned through one of two concentrations: Media Studies or Strategic Communication Management.
The media studies concentration uses a broad approach to study mass media. This is ideal for students who wish to explore how media shapes the world and, in turn, how the world shapes the media.
The strategic communication track focuses on communication as a management function in an organization. This perspective integrates public relations, advertising, and marketing communication into a single focus.

The Master of Science in Cybersecurity is an interdisciplinary major that utilizes talent across the Colleges of Business, Engineering, Arts & Sciences, and Behavioral and Community Sciences. Chemical Engineering
Students pursuing the Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering take coursework in advanced chemistry, thermodynamics, fluids, heat, and mass transfer, numerical methods, separation processes, reacting systems, instrumentation, control, and plant and product design. Students must also satisfactorily complete a design project as part of their major. Chemical engineering students must maintain a GPA of 2.0 in required departmental courses. Therefore, it is imperative that the students retain close contact with their advisor. Students completing this major normally initiate their careers in manufacturing, environmental, and biological enterprises. Chemical engineers are found in administrative, technical, and research positions in these industries. Main products of these industries are petrochemicals, polymers, fibers, natural and synthetic fuels, electronic materials, fertilizers, pharmaceuticals, bio-materials, etc.
