Architecture-M.Arch.
The USF School of Architecture & Community Design's curriculum prepares its graduates for a full range of professional activities. The Master of Architecture degree (M. Arch.) is fully accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB). The school's course of study emphasizes urban architecture and related topics to take advantage of its diverse metropolitan setting in Florida's Tampa Bay region. Its sequence of design studios provides an integrating element in a curriculum offering a broad mix of history, theory, technology, and professional practice along with an array of elective courses.

Optional Practical Training or OPT is a period during which students, who have completed their degrees in the USA, are permitted to work for one year on a student visa by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). OPT allows students to work for up to 3 years and develop real-world skills to survive in the competitive jobs market.
It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.

Master of Arts in Chemistry
The Department of Chemistry offers Doctor of Philosophy, Master of Science, and Non-thesis Master of Arts degrees. The Chemistry graduate faculty is comprised of full-time senior faculty members, all holding the Ph.D. degree. The combination of a large and strong faculty with a wide variety of courses provides students with programs of study that can be tailored to fit individual needs, while maintaining a sound background in all general aspects of Chemistry. The excellent research facilities and low student-faculty ratio combine to afford unique opportunities for advanced study in Chemistry.

Master of Science in Physics
Students admitted to the graduate major in Physics, will consult with the Physics Director of Graduate Studies, who will be the student’s course advisor and monitor the student’s progress. After a decision has been made concerning the student’s academic goals, the duties of graduate advising will be assumed by the major professor and the supervisory committee appointed by the department chairperson. In keeping with the student’s academic goals, the supervisory committee will determine the appropriate course of study and examinations required for graduation for both the thesis and non-thesis options.

Master of Arts in Criminal Justice Administration
The M.A. in Criminal Justice Administration is a specialized and concentrated program of study designed specifically for current or former practitioners within the criminal justice system. Generally it targets individuals who do not anticipate continuing on to the doctoral studies. It is a concentrated weekend, cohort-based major leading to the M.A. in five consecutive semesters. Up to two classes may be offered via the internet. Classes are held on weekends, meet for one day, and run seven weeks back-to-back. The major is modeled after a typical executive MBA program for working professionals. This is a cohort based model. This major concentrates on issues related to the organization and operation of criminal justice agencies and related organizations.

International Year One in Business (1-Semester Pathway) Leading to Bachelor of Science in Accounting
International Year One will prepare you to enter the second year of University of South Florida's competitive undergraduate degree program in business. After successfully completing the Pathway program, you are guaranteed to enter your next semester of study. This transition to university from an INTO program is called progression.
Accounting
The objective of the baccalaureate degree program in Accountancy is to provide students with accounting and business knowledge that will serve as a basis for careers in industry, government, non-profit organizations and public accountancy. The baccalaureate program also prepares students for entry into the Master of Accountancy (M.Acc.) professional degree program. The State of Florida requires completion of 120 semester hours to sit for the CPA examination and 150 semester hours are required for licensure.

The major leading to the accredited Master of Architecture degree is intended for students who have completed baccalaureate degrees in architecure or pre-professional majors. Students with non-architectural majors or with a pre professional undergraduate major may also enter the program once pre-requisites are completed.. The comprehensive and rigorous curriculum prepares graduates for a full range of professional activities. The course of study emphasizes urban architecture and related topics to take advantage of its diverse metropolitan setting in Florida’s Tampa Bay.
The School of Architecture and Community Design (SACD) is home to the Florida Center for Community Design and Research, is a non-profit public service institute of the School of Architecture and Community Design. It was founded in 1986 to assist the citizens of Florida in the creation of more livable and sustainable communities through applied community design, multi-disciplinary research, and public education. The diverse staff includes architecture faculty and students,research scientists, and programmer analysts. In addition, the Center has affiliated faculty or graduate students from the Department of Anthropology, Biology, Fine Arts, Geography, and Social Work.

Biology
The Bachelor of Science in Biology provides a broad, robust foundation in the biological sciences. It prepares students for graduate programs in biology (e.g. zoology, botany, conservation biology, microbiology, marine biology, ecology and evolution) as well as professional degrees in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine and pharmacology, or biology careers with industry and government agencies. The program emphasizes the development of critical thinking and communication skills, as well as competency in experimental design, data analysis and methodology for lab and field research. The concentrations allow students to focus coursework according to their interests. A wide range of skill-building opportunities are available to students through undergraduate research, internships, study abroad, service learning, and field courses.

The Bachelor of Science in Chemistry is designed for students wishing to continue with graduate training in chemistry and closely allied disciplines and the degree is certified by the American Chemical Society. The Bachelor of Science in Chemistry provides a firm foundation in all five disciplines of chemistry: organic, physical chemistry, inorganic, analytical and biochemistry. Students interested in research, the pursuit of an advanced degree, employment in the chemical industry, or who want to teach at the secondary education level may find this degree attractive. The curriculum for the B.S. degree in Chemistry meets the requirements for degree certification by the American Chemical Society.

After successfully completing the Pathway program, you are guaranteed to enter your next semester of study. This transition to university from an INTO program is called progression.
Music Education
The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Music Education is designed to prepare students as practitioners in the field. Practical experience is the underlying value in all courses and field experiences. Students receive direct experience with music education philosophies, theories, and practices through course work and laboratory settings, as well as the K-12 schools at all stages in the program. Students’ progress towards a robust, semester-long, student-teaching experience and participate in experimental and professional opportunities offered by formal and informal undergraduate and graduate symposia and contemporary consortia. This degree program challenges and prepares students to not only embrace the traditions of music education in the schools, but also to incorporate new potentials for the future.
This program has been certified as a Global Pathway. Global Pathway programs have significant global content and align with the goals of USF’s Quality Enhancement Plan, the Global Citizens Project. Students in Global Pathway programs are well positioned to earn the Global Citizen Award and become eligible to apply for a study abroad scholarship offered by the Global Citizens Project.
