World Languages and Cultures with a concentration in Interdisciplinary Classical Civilizations
The Bachelor of Arts in World Languages and Cultures offers students a solid foundation in language and linguistic skills, as well as knowledge of diverse cultures. Upon completion of the program, students will be able to interact and participate in a global environment.

Geography is the study of the human-environment relationship either in a global or more regional context.

Human Geography studies the construction of space, place, and power. It encompasses the study of economic geographies (e.g., globalization and development), political geographies (e.g. geopolitical struggles and new social movements), and social and cultural geographies (e.g. identities and exclusions). Human geography is key to providing insights into contemporary spatial arrangements, including the role of cities within the global economy, locating urban-rural intersections in the production of uneven development, and how class, gender, and race shape struggles for social justice.

The M.A. in Library and Information Science (LIS) is designed to prepare students for careers and leadership roles in library and information professions that serve the needs of a culturally diverse, technological society. The program is fully online, and offers student a flexible curriculum for them to meet their professional goals. Graduates of USF’s LIS program work in libraries, businesses, and various information agencies across the state, nationally, and internationally.

Accreditation
The M.A. in Library and Information has been continually accredited by the American Library Association (ALA) since 1974, with the most recent review for continued accreditation occurring in 2016.  Completion of the degree provides the professional credential commonly required for employment in many libraries and other information agencies. The curriculum in Art History reflects the belief that a traditional liberal arts program, supplemented by travel, is the best preparation for students who wish to teach the history of art at the college level or work in museums and galleries. Students will not specialize in a particular area such as Renaissance or Modern, but will acquire a general knowledge of the history of art. All Art History majors are required to take at least one 4000-level non-Western Art History course. Courses in areas such as history, philosophy, and literature are recommended as electives, both as supplement to undergraduate courses in art history and as a background for future graduate work. Art History majors are required to take courses in studio art as a means of better understanding what is involved in the art making process. It is important that students make every effort to travel to major museums in this country and, if possible, abroad.

The objective of the baccalaureate degree program in Accountancy is to provide students with accounting and business knowledge that will serve as a basis for careers in industry, government, non-profit organizations and public accountancy. The baccalaureate program also prepares students for entry into the Master of Accountancy (M.Acc.) professional degree program. The State of Florida requires completion of 120 semester hours to sit for the CPA examination and 150 semester hours are required for licensure.

Engineering Management-M.S.
The Master of Science in Engineering Management (MSEM) program, established in 1982, is a multidisciplinary graduate degree program for engineers and individuals with technical backgrounds who want to advance into management and executive roles. The MSEM program helps develop technical management skills by combining qualitative approaches and quantitative techniques in a balanced curriculum, which strengthens engineering credentials and develops managerial competence. Engineering leaders must be well versed in current technical alternatives and possess the managerial skills necessary to oversee enterprises and ensure their profitability. These leaders make key decisions where engineering insight is also an invaluable ingredient for success.

Chemistry
The Chemistry B.A. gives students exposure to analytical, inorganic, organic and physical chemistry while providing the flexibility to take additional elective courses. Students interested in professional, law, or graduate school or those who anticipate working in careers related to secondary education or business will find this degree attractive. The B.A. student whose goals include graduate study should supplement this curriculum by addition and/or substitution of a selection of advanced courses from the B.S. program. The Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry provides opportunities for curricula individually tailored to meet many career objectives.

The discipline of History embraces a diverse world of ideas, peoples, and events. Our faculty seek to inform and to question, to provoke and to challenge our students to a higher level of understanding of the past. History at the University of South Florida (USF) offers the student an opportunity to explore civilizations from around the globe and from the ancient through contemporary eras. Students are encouraged to move beyond traditional memorization of material to a critical level of thinking, analysis, and synthesis. Accomplished History majors are attractive to all kinds of employers in any number of fields, as well as to graduate and professional schools. USF History alumni may be found in such diverse professions as law, medicine, business, government, foreign-service, politics, and education.

The B.A. degree in Music Studies is part of the Provost’s Scholars Program (PSP). This is a program in which qualified students who enter USF directly from high school with 18 or more credits will be offered the opportunity to complete their undergraduate education in 3 years. Each selected student will be provided preferred registration privileges so that critical courses are not closed when they register. They will be given summer scholarships if they need to take summer classes and will be given scholarships to help them participate in study abroad programs. PSP students will live in the Honors College Living/Learning Community year 1. Students will be offered the assistance of faculty or off campus mentors, depending upon career goals and will be encouraged to use the fourth year for graduate study here at USF. Participants will not need to take larger academic loads and can take advantage of all that USF has to offer.

Environmental Geography links the study of nature and society and considers the ways in which conventional divisions between human and non-human (natural) worlds are bridged through the production of socio-natures. This understanding is crucial to explaining and ameliorating contemporary environmental problems, including the privatization of natural resources, inequalities in access to food and water, injustices associated with environmental hazards and undesirable land uses, and the role of human activities in spurring large-scale environmental change

GI Science and Spatial Analysis concentrates on the use of advanced geospatial technologies, and the development and use of spatial analysis methodologies, to applied research problems in human and environmental geography. A thorough understanding of such geospatial technologies as Remote Sensing, GIS, and GPS, as well as modern methods of spatial statistical analysis and emerging spatial analytical techniques such as agent-based modeling, is a critical aspect of developing appropriate approaches to the analysis of geographic data.
