Biomedical Sciences
The Biomedical Sciences degree serves as a gateway into a variety of health-professional programs such as Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, and Physician Assistant. Required courses include Biology, Chemistry, Math, and Physics. This degree provides the flexibility to choose advanced-level science coursework based on academic and professional interests. Students contemplating graduate study should pursue a major in the discipline of their interest, such as Biology, Chemistry, or Microbiology.

Anthropology
Anthropology aims at comprehending people as biological and social beings. It is concerned with all forms of people through time and space. This holistic and broad-ranging view is reflected by the presence within the Anthropology program of four branches or sub-fields: Archaeology, Biological Anthropology, Cultural Anthropology, and Linguistics. Exposure to anthropological information and the cross-cultural perspective produces heightened sensitivity in the student to the world about him/her. This helps the student to adopt an intellectual posture of disciplined skepticism with respect to any scheme that purports to define and account for regularities in human life. Students majoring in other fields may find Anthropology coursework an exciting and valuable supplement to their primary academic interest.

This program has been certified as a Global Pathway, which has significant global content. Students in Global Pathway programs are well positioned to earn the Global Citizen Award and become eligible to apply for a study abroad scholarship offered by the Global Citizens Project.

Medical Technology
The University of South Florida offers a four year program leading to the Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology. The first three years are completed on campus; the fourth year (12 months) is completed at one of three affiliated hospitals in Florida, located in Tampa, St. Petersburg, and Jacksonville. Admission to the fourth year is limited by the number of openings in affiliated hospitals and, at the present time, is competitive. Selection for the clinical program is made by the hospitals and students not admitted to a clinical program will need to select an alternate degree. Generally, hospitals require a minimum GPA of 2.50 to a 2.75, and our students admitted to clinical programs in recent years have had a mean GPA of 3.4 or higher. Students successfully completing this program will be granted a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology.

Graphic Arts with Graphic Design Concentration
The Graphic Arts degree offers students a sequence of rigorous courses that balance critical thinking and pragmatic experience, complemented by the enriched experience of the liberal arts environment of the University of South Florida.

Graphic artists develop the images that give voice to the world around us. Using their raw materials - the ability to think, draw, write, speak and design - students learn the skills to solve specific visual problems. The study of typography, design concepts, and digital technology develops an understanding of the tradition, practice, and process of graphic design.

This program guides students in building the imagination, aesthetic sensitivity, and powers of critical thought required to succeed as visual communicators. The curriculum emphasizes expertise in image development, typography, print and screen-based graphics, and interactive design. The program prepares students for the rigor of professional design practice through an internship program, courses in production, and portfolio development. Additionally, students design, organize and promote an exhibition of their final senior project.

The Electrical Engineering major offers study in all areas fundamental to the analysis, design, and development of electrical devices and systems. ?The areas covered by the major include foundational topics such as circuits and electrical power, to applications such as Internet of Things, Smart Grid, Security,  and Data Analytics. The major offers curriculum tracks that include: Bioelectrical Systems, Communication Systems, Energy, Power and Sustainability, Mechatronics, Robotics and Embedded Systems, Micro and Nano-scale Systems and Wireless Systems. Religious Studies-M.A.
The M.A. degree in Religious Studies provides opportunities for students with backgrounds in the scholarly study of religion to expand their knowledge of the social, cultural, intellectual, and historical contexts of religion, to develop a greater in-depth knowledge of particular religious traditions, and to acquire proficiency with a variety of pertinent methodologies and theoretical perspectives. The degree serves the needs of students who pursue careers in health professions in education, journalism, law, business, politics, and social work. It will be of special value to those interested in pursuing a doctorate in religious studies.

The goal of the Major is to train students to become planning practitioners capable of working in a variety of public, nonprofit, and private sector environments in a number of different fields. We prepare leaders in the field of urban and regional planning to meet community, national and global needs.

The Major recognizes the need for effective planners to possess diverse skills in the planning and management of human settlements. Accordingly, the MURP core coursework includes thematically-related courses in land use planning, research methods, quantitative analysis, planning theory and history, planning policy and politics, community and economic development, and geographic information systems (GIS). Students have the option of enrolling in electives that focus on housing & community development, land use planning, local economic development, GIS, coastal zone management, housing & community development, environmental and natural resources planning, natural hazards and resilience planning, and transportation planning. These areas of specialization build on the strengths of existing faculty in our sister-major in Public Administration, as well as with colleagues and facilities across the university. The major is thus distinct in its flexibility.

The field of Materials Science and Engineering applies the fundamental principles of physics and chemistry to engineering materials, with a focus on the interrelationship between material structure, their properties, and the means by which they are processed. MSE impacts multiple facets of our economy, such as aerospace, electronics, transportation, communication, construction, recreation, entertainment, environment and energy. It is, by its very nature, an interdisciplinary field. The goal of the M.S.M.S.E. major in Materials Science and Engineering is to provide a route for well?qualified undergraduate students who desire in?depth graduate?level work including structured courses and research experience, in preparation for work in industry or for entrance into a relevant science or engineering Ph.D. major.

Business Analytics and Information Systems
The Business Analytics and Information Systems (BAIS) major provides the skills and knowledge necessary to enter the rapidly changing world of business analytics and information systems. Potential career paths include data analyst, business intelligence analyst, business analyst, consulting, systems analyst, database administrator, project manager or a myriad of technology management roles in business.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering offers a non?thesis option for the degree of Master of Science in Information Technology (M.S.I.T). The MSIT graduate will demonstrate strong information technology skills as well as problem solving skills needed for the deployment of technology solutions to achieve business and organizational goals. The degree is available in an hybrid mode (online and face to face), and provides students with a broad and integrative understanding of both technology and operational and strategic business and organizational applications. There is considerable freedom in the choice of the courses.

The breadth of subjects which are part of information technology together with the immense diversity of its applications, make it imperative that students in the Master’s major maintain close contact with the Graduate Director, in order to achieve a coherent plan of study directed towards a specific goal. In particular, election of courses should only be made with prior consultation and approval of the Major Professor or the Graduate Director.
