Electrical Engineering-M.S.
The faculty of the Electrical Engineering Department at USF takes great pride in providing a high quality education to our more than 400 graduate students and invites you to consider joining us in advancing the frontiers of knowledge. Our student body is diverse, our research spans experimental and theoretical studies of many fundamental areas of electrical engineering, and we enjoy strong partnerships throughout industry and with prominent national laboratories and federal agencies. Most importantly our graduate students benefit from the dedicated, personal guidance of our faculty.

The faculty of electrical engineering hails from some of the finest institutions in the country, and includes NSF CAREER Award winners, Fellows of the IEEE and AAAS, Distinguished University Professors, and a member of the National Academy of Engineering. Many serve in national leadership roles in technical societies such as the IEEE, have industry experience to complement their academic backgrounds, and lend their expertise to federal agencies such as The National Science Foundation and The National Institutes of Health. Some are very entrepreneurial and have founded spin-off companies based on their research. This diversity of experience enriches the learning and experiences of our students.

Linguistics is primarily an upper-level and graduate discipline with strong interdisciplinary concerns. The Department of World Languages currently offers a Master of Arts in Linguistics: English as a Second Language. At USF, our Linguistics and TESL majors are among the oldest in the Sunshine State. Linguistics dates back to the early 1960s, early in USF history, and the applied linguistics major has prepared ESL/ESOL/EFL educators since the 1970s. Our students are prepared for positions teaching second languages to non-native speakers, and our alumni have taught in public and private institutes, here in the Tampa Bay area and around the world. Other graduates have continued their graduate education and earned doctoral degrees, and many of our alumni hold positions of leadership. In short, our graduates have made a name for the linguistics major at USF.

USF offers the first Bachelor’s in Public Health housed in its accredited College of Public Health in Florida. The Bachelor of Science in Public Health provides the student-centered courses required for entry-level public health jobs found in government agencies, health corporations, community non-profit organizations and healthcare facilities. 

The M.S. in Supply Chain Management provides advanced training to working professionals in the supply chain industry who want to advance their supply chain knowledge and skills. The target market is managers who currently hold a bachelor’s degree and work in operational areas such as procurement, transportation, information systems, production planning, and inventory management who need the knowledge and tools from the supply chain discipline to advance in their careers.

The Master of Science in Athletic Training (M.S. in A.T.) major is built around 60 credit hours of required coursework to satisfy the eligibility requirements for the students to sit for the Board of Certification examination.

Biomedical Engineering-M.S.
Biomedical Engineering is a highly interdisciplinary Major that combines engineering and the medical sciences. The student works with an advisor to develop a graduate Major that draws on courses from engineering, medicine, public health, and the life sciences.

Active areas of research include: (1) biomedical imaging and bioelectronics, (2) cell and tissue engineering, (3) molecular medicine and drug delivery, (4) neuroengineering and rehabilitation engineering

World Languages and Cultures with a concentration in Italian
The Bachelor of Arts in World Languages and Cultures offers students a solid foundation in language and linguistic skills, as well as knowledge of diverse cultures. Upon completion of the program, students will be able to interact and participate in a global environment.

Marketing-M.S.
The Master of Science in Marketing is a 30-34 credit hour specialized graduate degree. For the professional currently employed in marketing, it offers the opportunity to enhance overall knowledge, skills, and abilities. Students can choose an area of emphasis in marketing analytics, or digital marketing and brand management. The MS in Marketing offers sufficient preparation to qualify the graduate for adjunct teaching in community colleges and AACSB and SACS-accredited institutions. For a small number of students, the MS in Marketing is expected be a stepping stone to the PhD.
