Computer Engineering-M.S.
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering offers both a thesis and non-thesis option for the degree of Master of Science in Computer Engineering (M.S.C.P.). The thesis option requires students to pursue a more concentrated range of topics, while the non-thesis option allows students to explore various areas of computer engineering. There is considerable freedom in the choice of the courses.

The breadth of subjects that comprise computer engineering together with the immense diversity of its applications, make it imperative that students in the Master’s major maintain close contact with the Graduate Director, or, if choosing the thesis option, with their major professor to achieve a coherent plan of study directed towards a specific goal. In particular, selection of courses should only be made with prior consultation and approval of the major professor or the Graduate Director.

Psychology
 The Bachelor of Arts in Psychology offers students a well-rounded liberal arts education, relevant to many areas of study both inside and outside of the social and behavioral sciences. The program provides excellent training for qualified students who wish to pursue graduate work in such disciplines as Clinical, Cognitive and Neural Sciences or Industrial Psychology, Education, Gerontology, Counseling, Management, Medicine, Law, and other human service programs. The undergraduate program emphasizes the breadth of psychology while allowing students electives to pursue a particular aspect of the field in-depth.

Architecture-M.Arch.
The USF School of Architecture & Community Design's curriculum prepares its graduates for a full range of professional activities. The Master of Architecture degree (M. Arch.) is fully accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB). The school's course of study emphasizes urban architecture and related topics to take advantage of its diverse metropolitan setting in Florida's Tampa Bay region. Its sequence of design studios provides an integrating element in a curriculum offering a broad mix of history, theory, technology, and professional practice along with an array of elective courses.

The Biomedical Sciences degree serves as a gateway into a variety of health-professional programs such as Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, and Physician Assistant. Required courses include Biology, Chemistry, Math, and Physics. This degree provides the flexibility to choose advanced-level science coursework based on academic and professional interests. Students pursuing the Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering take coursework in thermodynamics, heat transfer, instrumentation, measurements, computer-aided design, solid and fluid mechanics, dynamics, machine analysis and design, mechanical design, manufacturing processes, vibrations and controls. This is supplemented by elective coursework in such areas as sustainability, internal combustion engines, refrigeration and air conditioning, mechanical design, robotics, propulsion, manufacturing, bio-engineering, alternative energy, thermal design, composite materials, and tribology. Laboratories are available for basic instrumentation, thermal and fluid sciences, solid mechanics, data acquisition, controls, CAD/CAE, and vibrations. Graduates of this major are employed in design, manufacturing, contracting, operations, marketing, and management in virtually all segments of industry and government, including, but not limited to: aeronautics, aerospace and propulsion; automotive, internal combustion engines, fuel cells and transportation; propulsion systems; power generation; heating, ventilation and air conditioning; structures and machinery design; mining and oil exploration; paper, textile, food, and petrochemical industries/processing/manufacturing; micro and nano materials and semiconductors; and biomaterials and bioengineering. There are abundant career opportunities in a wide range of industries because mechanical equipment is required in every aspect of modern industry.

The Master of Arts offers students an opportunity to study from an interdisciplinary perspective the ideas and works that have shaped world culture. FIve program concentrations are available: Africana Studies, American Studies, Film Studies, Florida Studies, Humanities.

The Spanish Section of the Department of World Languages supports a broad, intellectually-driven approach to teaching language, culture, and literature in higher education. Languages and cultures are complex, multifunctional phenomena that link an individual to other individuals, to communities and to national cultures. The graduate major in Spanish offers students academic and practical training in the languages, literatures and cultures of the Spanish-speaking communities of Spain, Latin America, and the United States. Students who receive a Masters of Arts in Spanish from the Department of World Language Education at USF become well-educated communicators with deep translingual and transcultural competence. Thus, they are exceptionally prepared to either continue studies leading to the Ph.D., or find careers in related fields such as the teaching profession, translation, government, civil service agencies, legal and paralegal services, or foreign and domestic business enterprises.

Cell and Molecular Biology
The Cell and Molecular Biology degree program will provide a strong foundation in general biology with an emphasis on biomedical-related areas, and focusing on the cellular and molecular processes that occur within cells. Many recent breakthroughs in this field have shed light on how cells function in the context of the whole organism. The fields of genomics/computational biology are contributing knowledge to underlying gene regulation, cell-cell interactions, and organismal-environmental interactions. Advances in cell and molecular biology are leading to new treatments for age-related diseases including cancer.

The Master of Science in Environmental Science and Policy is designed to provide students the discipline-specific knowledge and transferable skills to understand the socio-cultural and political context in which environmental problems are created and ameliorated, as well as the scientific expertise to explore and analyze the consequences of ongoing environmental change. Students can specialize in wetlands and water, natural environments, climate and hazards, geographic information systems, or human-environment interaction. The program offers both thesis and professional tracks as courses of study.
