An INTO USF Graduate Pathway program in Marketing will prepare you to enter your next semester of a master's degree program at University of South Florida. Marketing-M.S.
The Master of Science in Marketing is a 30-34 credit hour specialized graduate degree. For the professional currently employed in marketing, it offers the opportunity to enhance overall knowledge, skills, and abilities. Students can choose an area of emphasis in marketing analytics, or digital marketing and brand management. The MS in Marketing offers sufficient preparation to qualify the graduate for adjunct teaching in community colleges and AACSB and SACS-accredited institutions. For a small number of students, the MS in Marketing is expected be a stepping stone to the PhD.

The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Music Education is designed to prepare students as practitioners in the field. Practical experience is the underlying value in all courses and field experiences. Students receive direct experience with music education philosophies, theories, and practices through course work and laboratory settings, as well as the K-12 schools at all stages in the program. Students’ progress towards a robust, semester-long, student-teaching experience and participate in experimental and professional opportunities offered by formal and informal undergraduate and graduate symposia and contemporary consortia. This degree program challenges and prepares students to not only embrace the traditions of music education in the schools, but also to incorporate new potentials for the future.

This program has been certified as a Global Pathway. Global Pathway programs have significant global content and align with the goals of USF’s Quality Enhancement Plan, the Global Citizens Project. Students in Global Pathway programs are well positioned to earn the Global Citizen Award and become eligible to apply for a study abroad scholarship offered by the Global Citizens Project.

The Department offers graduate majors leading to the M.S.M.E. and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering.  Research opportunities are available in the following areas:  Mechanism Design, Kinematics, System Dynamics and Vibrations, Mechanical Controls, Tribology, Mechanical Design, Robotics, Rehabilitation Engineering, Composite Materials, Solid Mechanics, Fluid Dynamics, Thermal Energy Systems, Microelectronic Device Thermal Management, Clean and Renewable Energy Systems, Micro and Nano scale materials and systems, MEMS, Biosensors, Biofluids, Biomedical Engineering, and Engineering Education Cellular Mechanotransduction and Biomaterials, Autonomy, Control, Information, and Systems.

Department facilities include the following laboratories:  Computational Fluid Dynamics, Computational Solid Mechanics, Computer-Aided Design, Dynamic Systems, Hydraulics, Rehabilitation Engineering, Robotics, Biofuel cells and Biomimetics, Nanomaterials and Thin Films, Advanced Materials Processing and Characterization, Biofluids and Biosensors, Microelectronic Thermal Management and Heat Transfer, and Compliant Mechanisms.

Communication
The Bachelor of Arts in Communication is a liberal arts degree that prepares students to communicate effectively and ethically in personal and professional relationships and in both face-to-face and mediated contexts. More specifically this degree prepares students to:

• Collaborate, work, and lead in culturally-diverse teams and organizations;
• Develop advanced communication skills and competencies in oral, written, social media, and/or other forms of communication;
• Analyze and create messages, presentations, and persuasive communication strategies;
• Understand, build, and strengthen personal and professional identities and relationships;
• Study and critique culture and media including: media organizations, communication technologies, and mediated content (e.g., television, film, music, print, computer, Internet, and social media);
• Apply communication knowledge and related skills in one or more specialized contexts (e.g., health care; media; marketing; law; politics; profits and not-for-profits; government; public advocacy; social movements; religion; world cafés; public dialogues; performance; intimate and family relationships);
• Engage in undergraduate communication research; and
• Become active and productive U.S. and global citizens.

Computer Science
The Computer Science program focuses on the design, development, and application of software systems. Additional course work in algorithms, discrete structures, object oriented design, data structures, operating systems, digital logic design, computer architecture, and a wide range of advanced electives extend and supplement the core.

Students pursuing the Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering take coursework in advanced chemistry, thermodynamics, fluids, heat, and mass transfer, numerical methods, separation processes, reacting systems, instrumentation, control, and plant and product design. Students must also satisfactorily complete a design project as part of their major. Chemical engineering students must maintain a GPA of 2.0 in required departmental courses. Therefore, it is imperative that the students retain close contact with their advisor. Students completing this major normally initiate their careers in manufacturing, environmental, and biological enterprises. Chemical engineers are found in administrative, technical, and research positions in these industries. Main products of these industries are petrochemicals, polymers, fibers, natural and synthetic fuels, electronic materials, fertilizers, pharmaceuticals, bio-materials, etc.

Economics offers a clear and logical way of thinking about complicated issues such as unemployment, inflation, pollution, and crime. The Department of Economics offers broad course choices allowing students to tailor their programs to provide training for professional careers in business, teaching, government, and law. Students interested in majoring or minoring in economics should contact the undergraduate advisor in the Department of Economics for more information.

The M.A. in English with a concentration in Literature is a continuation of the B.A. with greater depth in literary knowledge and an introduction and implementation of methods, standards, and conventions of scholarship on literature.  It is a generalist degree with broad-based distribution requirements, but it has the flexibility to study cutting-edge theories and newly emerging fields of interests (including cultural and comparative studies, ethnic literatures, and genre studies such as film).  The department also offers a M.A. in English with a concentration in Rhetoric and Composition. It is designed to produce teacher-scholars who have solid, foundational knowledge of critical theory, PTC theory and practice, and composition pedagogy, as well as a specialized knowledge in their field of concentration.

Humanities and Cultural Studies with a concentration in Humanities
The Humanities program offers an interdisciplinary curriculum that investigates the visual arts, music, and literature, and the cultures from which they emerge.

The B.S. in Quantitative Economics and Econometrics is a baccalaureate degree focusing on the more analytical and applied aspects of economics, including forecasting, program and business evaluation, benefit/cost analysis and economic impact analysis.
