Entrepreneurship
A major in Entrepreneurship is intended for those students interested in the possibility of self-venturing or who may someday work in an entrepreneurial firm. Upon completion of this major, students will be especially prepared to leverage their knowledge to work in management positions within high growth, innovative firms or to take their own idea to market. This major utilizes an interdisciplinary approach to education thus providing a well-rounded knowledge of business.

Students will learn the creative nature of idea/opportunity identification and evaluation, the unique skills necessary to build an entrepreneurial firm, and the ability to interact with local community resources and mentors.

Physics
The B.A. program is designed for students who are not currently planning to attend physics graduate school and/or who want to pursue parallel studies in other fields such as mathematics, biology, chemistry, computer science, engineering, business, pre-med, pre-law, and teacher education.

Their scholarship is published in the leading research journals, books, and monographs in their disciplines. The School of Music also invites guest composers, conductors, and performing musicians to enhance its performances and to provide master classes, symposia, and clinics for students and the public. Many USF music alumni are currently performers in a variety of concert settings and successful teachers in public schools, colleges, and universities around the country in a variety of concert settings. The School of Music at USF offers the student the opportunity to study with distinguished faculty and to be in the company of other superior music students for an exciting and exacting period of study.

The Master of Music degree provides students with an opportunity to pursue intense, focused study in their music specialty, coupled with a vigorous, balanced curriculum in music theory, music literature, and electives. Students in this major are mentored expertly by senior faculty and exhibit mastery of their specialty at the end of the course of study by way of appropriate capstone experiences, including recitals or theses and comprehensive examinations. The provisions and balance of these experiences comport precisely with the curriculum guidelines required by the National Association of Schools of Music.

Sociology
The Sociology major is designed to provide students with a broad liberal arts education and a greater understanding and insight into the social systems and processes that bear upon everyday lives. Opportunities for students with Bachelor’s degrees in Sociology are quite varied. Some go on to work for human service agencies; others work in personnel, criminal justice, and urban planning; others enter graduate programs in sociology, education, law, medicine, or social work. Toward these ends, all students are encouraged to become skilled in the use of computers and libraries.

This degree is designed to develop the student’s consciousness of aesthetic and ideological aspects of art and its relationship to life. The degree also assists students in the realization of personal ideas, art making skills and imagery. The BA is oriented toward a general and broad immersion in the field. Studio courses are supplemented with studies in art history, foreign language and an abundance of electives both within the School of Art and Art History and throughout the campus. While the BA in Studio Art is not usually the preferred preparation for moving on to the Master of Fine Arts degree, it is quite appropriate for seeking other advanced degrees, especially in the Liberal Arts or other similar programs.

Electrical Engineering
The Electrical Engineering major offers study in all areas fundamental to the analysis, design, and development of electrical devices and systems. ?The areas covered by the major include foundational topics such as circuits and electrical power, to applications such as Internet of Things, Smart Grid, Security,  and Data Analytics. The major offers curriculum tracks that include: Bioelectrical Systems, Communication Systems, Energy, Power and Sustainability, Mechatronics, Robotics and Embedded Systems, Micro and Nano-scale Systems and Wireless Systems. Well-equipped laboratories reinforce fundamental concepts, while providing real world hands-on exposure.

Chemistry
The Chemistry B.A. gives students exposure to analytical, inorganic, organic and physical chemistry while providing the flexibility to take additional elective courses. Students interested in professional, law, or graduate school or those who anticipate working in careers related to secondary education or business will find this degree attractive. The B.A. student whose goals include graduate study should supplement this curriculum by addition and/or substitution of a selection of advanced courses from the B.S. program. The Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry provides opportunities for curricula individually tailored to meet many career objectives.

Graphic Arts with Graphic Design Concentration
The Graphic Arts degree offers students a sequence of rigorous courses that balance critical thinking and pragmatic experience, complemented by the enriched experience of the liberal arts environment of the University of South Florida.

Graphic artists develop the images that give voice to the world around us. Using their raw materials - the ability to think, draw, write, speak and design - students learn the skills to solve specific visual problems. The study of typography, design concepts, and digital technology develops an understanding of the tradition, practice, and process of graphic design.

This program guides students in building the imagination, aesthetic sensitivity, and powers of critical thought required to succeed as visual communicators. The curriculum emphasizes expertise in image development, typography, print and screen-based graphics, and interactive design. The program prepares students for the rigor of professional design practice through an internship program, courses in production, and portfolio development. Additionally, students design, organize and promote an exhibition of their final senior project.

The Master of Science in Cybersecurity is an interdisciplinary major that utilizes talent across the Colleges of Business, Engineering, Arts & Sciences, and Behavioral and Community Sciences. The major prepares students for leadership, managerial and domain-specific roles in Cybersecurity and for employment in managerial and operational positions that require quick analytical thinking, decision-making under uncertainty regarding critical resources, and domain-specific technical skills for managing secure operations. Specifically, based on the design of the concentrations and the core of this major, the major is also expected to prepare students for

• Intelligence positions that require innovative, analytical, decision-making, and technical skills for providing cybersecurity intelligence,
• Information assurance positions that require secure management of information and data transferred, used, stored, and processed in information systems,
• Law enforcement positions that are required to deal more and more with cyber-crimes, and
• Cybersecurity positions that require deep technical skills in the security domain.

Because this is a graduate-level major, to ensure that students possess the foundational knowledge for academic success, students admitted to this major are most likely to be successful if they have academic or work experience in the areas of C/C++ programming, computer networks, operating-system design, algorithms, data structures, and computer organization. An undergraduate degree in computer science, computer engineering, MIS, or IT is recommended for admission. Note: For the Information Assurance Concentration it is recommended that students have a background in accounting information systems, database management, and systems analysis and design.
