English with a concentration in Creative Writing
A bachelor’s degree in English prepares students for any field that values critical thinking, high reading comprehension, clear and effective writing, and the ability to interpret and analyze language. It provides two concentrations from which students must choose one: Creative Writing and Literary Studies.

The Master of Science in Advanced Athletic Training has an emphasis on youth sports injury and other advanced athletic training competencies. This post-professional major is directed towards students either who hold the athletic training credential issued by the Board of Certification (BOC) or who are BOC-eligible or have equivalent athletic training professional preparation and wish to seek an advanced degree.  This major is designed to provide students with a post-professional degree in Advanced Athletic Training with an emphasis on youth sports injury.  For information on tuition costs, please contact the Department.

Criminology
The Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology provides students with the skills and knowledge needed in the wide variety of agencies that comprise the criminal justice system, these include law enforcement, detention, the judiciary, corrections, juvenile justice, probation and parole. Also, the undergraduate program prepares criminology students to pursue a graduate degree in Criminology or related disciplines. The undergraduate program in Criminology introduces students to the theory, issues and methodology of the causes of crime and the criminal justice system. The program provides students with the critical thinking skills necessary for the consumption and production of criminological research. Upon graduation, students must be able to delineate the main theoretical explanations of crime and delinquency, demonstrate knowledge of research methods used in the fields of criminology and criminal justice, and provide an understanding of the structure and process of the U.S. system of criminal justice.

The Chemistry B.A. gives students exposure to analytical, inorganic, organic and physical chemistry while providing the flexibility to take additional elective courses. Students interested in professional, law, or graduate school or those who anticipate working in careers related to secondary education or business will find this degree attractive. The B.A. student whose goals include graduate study should supplement this curriculum by addition and/or substitution of a selection of advanced courses from the B.S. program. The Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry provides opportunities for curricula individually tailored to meet many career objectives.

Africana Studies is a liberal arts program offering a Bachelor of Arts in Africana Studies, a Minor in Africana Studies and a Certificate in Africana Literatures. This program provides all students with the opportunity to study the history, culture and lived experiences of people of African descent–on the African continent and throughout the world. Students also study the influence of Africa and people of African descent on the world at-large. The Africana Studies curriculum also explores the social construction of race and racism and encourages the development of critical thinking skills while also challenging students to explore new ideas, seek new connections and become actively engaged in the global community.

The Graduate Pathway in Biology offers you the chance to enhance your English and academic ability. It will prepare you to successfully pursue graduate studies at University of South Florida. Chemistry
The Bachelor of Science in Chemistry is designed for students wishing to continue with graduate training in chemistry and closely allied disciplines and the degree is certified by the American Chemical Society. The Bachelor of Science in Chemistry provides a firm foundation in all five disciplines of chemistry: organic, physical chemistry, inorganic, analytical and biochemistry. Students interested in research, the pursuit of an advanced degree, employment in the chemical industry, or who want to teach at the secondary education level may find this degree attractive. The curriculum for the B.S. degree in Chemistry meets the requirements for degree certification by the American Chemical Society.

Africana Studies
Africana Studies is a liberal arts program offering a Bachelor of Arts in Africana Studies, a Minor in Africana Studies and a Certificate in Africana Literatures. The Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of South Florida, in  partnership with the Colleges of Business and Engineering,  Morsani College of Medicine and the Patel College of Global Sustainability, has established a novel, innovative, and unique major in interdisciplinary Entrepreneurship in Applied Technologies. The Master’s of Science Degree Program in Entrepreneurship in Applied Technologies is an innovative major and consists of courses that will consolidate the Entrepreneurship education and training for successful opportunity recognition and development, technology and market assessment, technology commercialization, new venture formation, and new venture financing into a single inter-disciplinary program curriculum utilizing faculty and courses in the Colleges of Business, Engineering, Medicine, and Global Sustainability.
