Mechanical Engineering
Students pursuing the Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering take coursework in thermodynamics, heat transfer, instrumentation, measurements, computer-aided design, solid and fluid mechanics, dynamics, machine analysis and design, mechanical design, manufacturing processes, vibrations and controls. This is supplemented by elective coursework in such areas as sustainability, internal combustion engines, refrigeration and air conditioning, mechanical design, robotics, propulsion, manufacturing, bio-engineering, alternative energy, thermal design, composite materials, and tribology. Laboratories are available for basic instrumentation, thermal and fluid sciences, solid mechanics, data acquisition, controls, CAD/CAE, and vibrations. Graduates of this major are employed in design, manufacturing, contracting, operations, marketing, and management in virtually all segments of industry and government, including, but not limited to: aeronautics, aerospace and propulsion; automotive, internal combustion engines, fuel cells and transportation; propulsion systems; power generation; heating, ventilation and air conditioning; structures and machinery design; mining and oil exploration; paper, textile, food, and petrochemical industries/processing/manufacturing; micro and nano materials and semiconductors; and biomaterials and bioengineering. There are abundant career opportunities in a wide range of industries because mechanical equipment is required in every aspect of modern industry.

Chemistry
The Chemistry B.A. gives students exposure to analytical, inorganic, organic and physical chemistry while providing the flexibility to take additional elective courses. Students interested in professional, law, or graduate school or those who anticipate working in careers related to secondary education or business will find this degree attractive. The B.A. student whose goals include graduate study should supplement this curriculum by addition and/or substitution of a selection of advanced courses from the B.S. program. Marketing
Marketing is a dynamic field with many dimensions, including product selection and planning, product distribution, pricing and promotion. Marketing poses many challenges and yields generous rewards for those who meet these challenges. Marketing operations are carried out domestically and internationally in all business organizations that offer a good or service. Many marketing concepts are applicable to the operations of non-profit organizations such as governmental, educational, and healthcare institutions, as well as charitable and political campaigns. Marketing operations provide the most visible links between the firm or institution and its many publics. Marketing deals with people who are constantly changing in their needs, wants, and desires; and coupled with these changing tastes is a fiercely competitive environment sustained by all the resources of a rapidly evolving technology. These forces lead to much of the challenge and dynamic nature of marketing.

The Marketing program prepares students for initial entry and management positions in many areas of marketing with a curriculum that is concerned with:

• Understanding how to attract and retain customers;
• Having the ability to find and analyze information;
• Being able to design, collect, and analyze marketing information to be used in managerial decision making;
• Using digital and traditional media to reach customers;
• Having personal communication skills that businesses demand;
• Being capable of writing an actionable marketing plan;
• Understanding and being able to apply the latest marketing concepts, including marketing automation.

Religious Studies-M.A.
The M.A. degree in Religious Studies provides opportunities for students with backgrounds in the scholarly study of religion to expand their knowledge of the social, cultural, intellectual, and historical contexts of religion, to develop a greater in-depth knowledge of particular religious traditions, and to acquire proficiency with a variety of pertinent methodologies and theoretical perspectives. The degree serves the needs of students who pursue careers in health professions in education, journalism, law, business, politics, and social work. It will be of special value to those interested in pursuing a doctorate in religious studies.

Economics
Economics offers a clear and logical way of thinking about complicated issues such as unemployment, inflation, pollution, and crime. The Department of Economics offers broad course choices allowing students to tailor their programs to provide training for professional careers in business, teaching, government, and law. Global Business
The Bachelor of Arts in Global Business provides students with the knowledge, skills and experience necessary for successful careers in the global business environment. Graduates will have not only a Global Business major, but also a concentration in one of the functional areas of business (Finance, Management, Marketing, and Business Analytics and Information Systems). With this preparation, graduates will find employment in many manufacturing, service or knowledge-based industries with global markets, global suppliers, global sources of finance and/or a globally diverse workforce. The Global Business program is unique in that it combines preparation in business administration with language studies and a meaningful overseas work or study experience.

The mission of PCGS is achieving sustainable development, both locally and globally, by fostering social, economic and environmental sustainability; we accomplish this through teaching, research, mentoring students and community outreach, as well as by generating practical knowledge and developing innovative technologies, skills and policies.

The M.A. degree in Global Sustainability provides students with a broad education in sustainability studies and applied practices that enable humanity to address current pressing issues facing global ecosystems and to ensure a sustainable future. The interconnections between many fields are highlighted with emphasis placed on systems and nexus thinking, circular economies, sustainable development goals, and the triple bottom line of supporting people, planet and prosperity.

The M.A. in Global Sustainability offers four concentrations: Climate Mitigation and Adaptation, Sustainable Tourism, Sustainability Policy and Sustainable Business. All concentrations are offered in online, on-campus format, and blended formats to meet the needs of student schedules. The graduate program is designed to prepare students to address complex regional, national, and global challenges related to sustainability and the ability to innovate in diverse cultural, geographic, and demographic contexts. Career preparation and professional development are emphasized through internships, certification training and applied projects to give students a superior education that prepares them for diverse occupations related to sustainability.

The M.A. in English with a concentration in Literature is a continuation of the B.A. with greater depth in literary knowledge and an introduction and implementation of methods, standards, and conventions of scholarship on literature.  It is a generalist degree with broad-based distribution requirements, but it has the flexibility to study cutting-edge theories and newly emerging fields of interests (including cultural and comparative studies, ethnic literatures, and genre studies such as film).  The department also offers a M.A. in English with a concentration in Rhetoric and Composition. It is designed to produce teacher-scholars who have solid, foundational knowledge of critical theory, PTC theory and practice, and composition pedagogy, as well as a specialized knowledge in their field of concentration.

Urban and Regional Planning-M.A.
The goal of the major is to train students to become planning practitioners capable of working in a variety of public, nonprofit, and private sector environments in a number of different fields. We prepare leaders in the field of urban and regional planning to meet community, national and global needs.
