BA Language, Culture, and World Trade
Looking to broaden your career options? The BA in Language, Culture, and World Trade will give you the tools you will need to meet the growing domestic and international demand for linguistically and culturally fluent professionals.

Teachers of grades 1–6 arguably have the greatest responsibility: to provide students with a solid foundation that encourages a life of learning. With the bachelor’s of science in childhood education, you can choose from one of the following concentrations: biology, English, history, mathematics, or Spanish (NYC Campus only). This program leads to a bachelor’s degree and the New York State Initial Teaching Certificate in Childhood Education.

BA Modern Languages and Cultures
Are you looking to become a more educated citizen of the world, with a degree that will enable you to cross linguistic, cultural, and literary borders? Our BA in Modern Languages and Cultures will enable you to acquire linguistic, cultural, and literary skills in one or two foreign languages. Instead of a second language, you may choose from among four interdisciplinary area studies tracks.

From birth to second grade, early life experiences have a lasting impact on later success. Our bachelor’s of science in early childhood education was created to support the development of all young children, including those who are culturally, linguistically, and ability diverse, with a focus on using developmentally effective approaches to build a meaningful curriculum for our youngest learners. BS Chemistry
Through our BS in Chemistry, you will be carried far beyond textbook learning to get hands-on experience with modern laboratory instrumentation. With certification by the American Chemical Society, this program provides a unique opportunity to integrate classroom theory with laboratory experience.

• Through prudent selection of elective courses, in consultation with faculty advisors, chemistry majors may choose a specialization in a pre-professional course of study, such as pre-med.
• We offer a unique opportunity to combine classroom theory with practical experience by connecting you with the ability to conduct research alongside faculty, in some cases as early as sophomore year.
• You can expect to conduct work on on-going research projects including biochemical studies of parasitic diseases with a view to developing new antimicrobial agents to combat disease by opportunistic infections of AIDS patients, sexually transmitted diseases and East African sleeping sickness.

In the BA in Philosophy and Religious Studies, you will study a broad survey of major figures and ideas in philosophy as well as in the major world religions, with in-depth studies of those figures and ideas that you find particularly attractive.
