• Through prudent selection of elective courses, in consultation with faculty advisors, chemistry majors may choose a specialization in a pre-professional course of study, such as pre-med.
• We offer a unique opportunity to combine classroom theory with practical experience by connecting you with the ability to conduct research alongside faculty, in some cases as early as sophomore year.
• You can expect to conduct work on on-going research projects including biochemical studies of parasitic diseases with a view to developing new antimicrobial agents to combat disease by opportunistic infections of AIDS patients, sexually transmitted diseases and East African sleeping sickness.

This specialized program will help prepare you for employment in quantitative or technical fields such as actuarial science, computer science, finance, operations research, statistics, and science, as well as graduate study. You will be encouraged to choose a concentration or minor designed to support your professional aspirations. The MS in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) International is a 30-credit program that prepares teachers of English who want to work in international settings or with adult learners in the US. This non-certification program doesn’t even require an undergraduate degree in education.

From birth to second grade, early life experiences have a lasting impact on later success. Our bachelor’s of science in early childhood education was created to support the development of all young children, including those who are culturally, linguistically, and ability diverse, with a focus on using developmentally effective approaches to build a meaningful curriculum for our youngest learners. The Early Childhood Education program leads to a bachelor’s degree and the New York State Initial Teaching Certificate in early childhood education.

Political Science is the systematic study of power at local, national, and global levels.
