It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.

Bachelor of Arts in History
The study of history aims at the understanding and disciplined reconstruction of past human activities, institutions, ideas, and aspirations in the light of present knowledge and in the hope of usefulness for the future. History belongs both to the humanities and to the social sciences. It is studied both for its own sake and for the light it throws on the present problems and future prospects of particular societies and of humankind in general.
A major in history in combination with work in foreign languages, philosophy, literature, and the social sciences provides a broad foundation for informed citizenship. History majors find employment in many fields of human endeavor from arts and business to public service and education. Specialization in history is especially valuable as pre-professional training for law, government, diplomacy, and journalism and for library, archival, and museum administration.

Bachelor of Arts in Marketing Management
Marketing Management at UConn is distinguished by the integration of experiential learning and the latest insights from academic research. You develop conceptual, analytical, leadership, communication, and creative skills through case discussions and memos, writing marketing plans, in-class exercises, and company projects. You learn the academic evidence for “what works” in marketing from leading scholars in the field. UConn students have a number of opportunities to develop specialized skills in marketing, to do an internship to practice what they learn, and to participate in academic research.
Students will be able to declare an optional concentration in Digital Marketing & Analytics within Marketing Management, which equips students with the knowledge and skills to develop and implement digital marketing strategies. The concentration provides students with sufficient depth in both the analytics and strategic aspects of digital marketing to successfully use these tools to meet marketing and firm objectives.

Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Studies
The Theatre Studies BA is similar to most of UConn's liberal arts degrees in students take approximately 40% of their college credits within their major field. On the introductory, 1000 course level, BA students must take the same core courses required of all Dramatic Arts majors. In addition, BA students elect a further 18 credits of courses in dramatic arts at the 3000-4000 level. The remaining 60% of the BA curriculum consists mainly of liberal arts courses, including the University's broad-ranging General Education Requirements and the election of 12 credits at the 3000-4000 level in a related group of courses outside the department.
Thanks to its special combination of academic studies in theatre and production experience through the Connecticut Repertory Theatre, the BA in Theatre Studies provides an excellent foundation for graduate work in theatre or other academic fields, as well as a foundation for professional careers in directing, playwriting, dramatic criticism, stage management, theatre management, and a host of other related fields within the theatre, film, and television industries.
The following is a list of the dramatic arts courses you will take in order to complete your BA in Theatre Studies. “Related” courses are non-Dramatic Arts courses.
