Marist’s Biology program, offering degrees in Biomedical Sciences and Biology, with concentrations in Human Biology or the Biological Sciences, is designed to help you take your passion and turn it into a successful, meaningful future. Religion is both the source and expression for much of humanity's self-understanding. Fundamental questions about existence, identity, and values are addressed through religious "worlds of meaning." At various times in recent history, religion has been disparaged as oppressive (Marx), criticized as an illusion (Freud), or dismissed as irrelevant (the post-Holocaust "God is Dead" movement). Nonetheless, religious sources and expression continue to provide the central texts, symbols, and paths of transformation for individuals and societies throughout the world.

Political and economic realities today ensure that no education can be considered adequate without the ability to understand the perspective of cultures other than our own. The French perspective affords students three distinct features: a tradition of inquiry into the meaning, structure, and practice of language; a history of thought, literature, and fine arts that has shaped the Western tradition; and a rich diversity of African, North American and Asian cultures which still choose French as a primary or secondary mode of expression.

As a Philosophy major at Marist, you will develop important skills, and philosophy complements other pursuits such as the law, psychology, cognitive science, and computer science.

The B.S. in Digital Media is designed to allow students the opportunity to explore, in depth, the new exciting field of Digital Media under the guidance of recognized working artists, designers, and educators. It combines courses in digital media with a balanced curriculum of art studio, art history, and liberal arts.
