Marist’s Media Studies and Production major is designed to provide a well-rounded education in both the theory and practice of the industry. Taught by faculty who live what they teach, our program will hone your creativity and passion to take you from the classroom to the production room.

The study of Interior Design focuses on developing each design student's creativity by intersecting it with visual, technical, and architectural design principles. Mastery of these principles will enhance an Interior Design student's understanding of space, creativity, and art, while encouraging each person's own imagination allowing design students to correctly channel and focus ideas, avoid clichés, and collect new stimuli.

Our Environmental Science and Policy students are ready to harness their passion for environmental consciousness into successful and meaningful career paths. With direct campus access to the Hudson River and the expansive resources of the Hudson River Valley, extensive connections in the field, and expert faculty invested in your success, you’ll be well-prepared to make your mark on the future of the global environment.    

The Advertising concentration within the Communication major is geared toward our students focused on careers in advertising, whether their interest lies in creative, media, strategy, or account management. This concentration provides hands-on exposure to the industry, giving you a competitive edge when you enter the field after graduation.

Religion is both the source and expression for much of humanity's self-understanding. Fundamental questions about existence, identity, and values are addressed through religious "worlds of meaning." At various times in recent history, religion has been disparaged as oppressive (Marx), criticized as an illusion (Freud), or dismissed as irrelevant (the post-Holocaust "God is Dead" movement). Nonetheless, religious sources and expression continue to provide the central texts, symbols, and paths of transformation for individuals and societies throughout the world.

Marist’s Sports Communication concentration within the Communication major goes beyond scores and statistics. You will read and analyze sports in new ways, critically examining the role of sports in society and considering such areas as gender, race, and public policy in the context of sports. With a unique combination of theory and practice, you’ll have real-world experience in sports communication long before you enter the industry after graduation.

Criminal Justice majors at Marist learn and apply critical thinking and criminological theory to address the many issues relevant to the creation of a just society.  They examine the concept of crime from multiple perspectives and engage in internship opportunities that bring into focus the importance of developing theories in conjunction with a “boots on the ground” experience.

Marist’s Biology program, offering degrees in Biomedical Sciences and Biology, with concentrations in Human Biology or the Biological Sciences, is designed to help you take your passion and turn it into a successful, meaningful future. Our natural resources of the Hudson River and local community combined with our state-of-the-art technological resources and expert faculty create a learning environment unlike any other for our Biology, Biomedical Sciences, and Human Biology students. 

The B.A. in Italian provides the foundational skills for spoken and written proficiency as well as essential knowledge of Italian culture through the study of a broad range of topics such as Italian literature,  history, and contemporary ideas. The minor provides students with a solid base for the many professions linked with international endeavors and helps to prepare students to work in Italian and Italian American communities and institutions here and abroad.

The Applied Mathematics curriculum is designed to be customizable based on your specific career goals and interests. This customization comes in the form of four unique interdisciplinary tracks:

• Biology Track: apply mathematics to the fields of biology and medicine
• Chemistry Track: develop your mathematics skills as they pertain to the different fields of chemistry
• Computer Science Track: take your mathematics further into the fields of data science, programming, and information technology
• Financial/Actuarial Track: enter the fields of financial management, economics, finance, and more
