Overview
Human fitness is a personally rewarding and increasingly important field of study in today’s world. Health and Movement Studies takes a practical, hands-on approach. Combining courses in exercise science, psychology, and health and fitness, this major will help you arrive at a complete, real-world understanding of your field.
You’ll develop a broad-based understanding of the human body and explore how you can use that knowledge to help others achieve higher levels of fitness. You’ll also learn how to analyze a person’s fitness level and teach or correct a movement. By investigating the psychology of motivation, you’ll be able to inspire people to reach their goals.

Optional Practical Training or OPT is a period during which students, who have completed their degrees in the USA, are permitted to work for one year on a student visa by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). OPT allows students to work for up to 3 years and develop real-world skills to survive in the competitive jobs market.
It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.
A student can participate in three types of Optional Practical Training (OPT):

As a kinesiology student, you’ll develop an in-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology, allowing you to help people maintain healthy lifestyles. You’ll also learn how exercise impacts the body’s structure and function through intensive courses in human sciences and biomechanics.
With access to exceptional labs and equipment, and a world-class recreation center, you’ll have opportunities for experiences and research depth rarely available to undergraduates. For example, in your human anatomy class you’ll work in the cadaver lab. With the state-of-the-art human patient simulator, you’ll experience what it’s like to be part of a healthcare team as you diagnose and treat virtual patients.

You’ll begin with an introduction to the breadth of chemistry, followed by a deeper study of advanced subjects. Your program will culminate with a collaborative research project in which you’ll explore an area of interest to you, with the help from a member of Hanover’s highly specialized faculty. Along the way, you will become a person who speaks the language of chemistry, thinks critically and solves problems.

As an international studies student, you’ll become a confident, competent global citizen who is prepared to take an active role in the growing global community.
With their extensive international experience, Hanover’s multilingual faculty has helped students understand the complexities of international interdependence and has produced two Fulbright scholars. International studies majors have interned with the United Nations in New York City, with foreign embassies in Washington, D.C. and with the Inter-Paliamentary Union in Geneva.
Maybe you’ll travel to Brussels to learn about the economics of the European Union or to Africa to understand African politics and societies. Certainly, you’ll broaden your perspective on the cultural, economic and political issues that are keys to success in today’s world.

As a geology student at Hanover, you will develop your scientific reasoning through discoveries in the classroom and in the field. Geology studies are supported by a wide range of hands-on experiences that make learning come to life.
Our small class sizes allow for lively discussions about compelling issues in geology, ranging from global warming to depletion of our natural resources. You will have opportunities to work with state-of-the-art laboratory technology and pursue research in collaboration with our faculty. You will gain valuable field experience in at least one of Hanover’s off-campus travel courses to the Grand Canyon, Ghost Ranch, N.M., or even northwest Scotland, where you will learn how to recognize rock types and geological structures, as well as apply your knowledge to field-mapping and problem-solving.
Our students are prepared for graduate school or careers in environmental geology, geotechnical consulting, hydrology and the energy and mineral industries. As a Hanover geology graduate, you will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to address critical issues that will shape our planet’s future.
