Optional Practical Training or OPT is a period during which students, who have completed their degrees in the USA, are permitted to work for one year on a student visa by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). OPT allows students to work for up to 3 years and develop real-world skills to survive in the competitive jobs market.
It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.
A student can participate in three types of Optional Practical Training (OPT):

Bachelor of Medieval Renaissanace
The Medieval-Renaissance Studies major is an interdepartmental major that will focus your attention on the Middle Ages, the Renaissance and their classical antecedents. This major will give you the structure of discipline-specific courses (including history, literature and art history) and the flexibility of working across scholarly disciplines.
If you want to declare this major, you must have your major programs approved by the Medieval-Renaissance Committee before entering your junior year; subsequent changes in major programs must also be approved by the Committee.

Combining courses in exercise science, psychology, and health and fitness, this major will help you arrive at a complete, real-world understanding of your field.
You’ll develop a broad-based understanding of the human body and explore how you can use that knowledge to help others achieve higher levels of fitness. In medicine, it’s errors in biochemistry that cause most diseases. That’s why so many students interested in medicine are attracted to the biochemistry major at Hanover.
By focusing on the molecular aspects of biology, especially DNA, you can better understand the chemical processes and reactions that occur in humans and other living creatures.
