The Bachelor of Arts with a major in Theatre Arts is the traditional liberal arts theatre degree that provides students broad-based theatre knowledge in each of the collaborative areas. It prepares students for graduate study, professional theatre careers, and may serve as preparation for law, ministry, or educational careers. It emphasizes cultural understanding, aesthetic sensitivity, and creative skill.

The B.A. and the B.S. in biology can both provide students with the experience and knowledge necessary to have a successful career. A B.A. in biology requires 20 approved hours from Math, Physics, or Chemistry department courses. The B.A. has a more flexible supporting area and is a particularly appealing option for students who would like to combine their biology degree with another area of emphasis.

The business-sociology degree combines courses in business, accounting and economics with courses in sociology and anthropology.

The Bachelor of Arts degree is designed for those students who want a solid physics education with a broad liberal arts background and will be pursuing further education or employment in fields other than physics or engineering.

Students majoring in Health and Fitness Studies may pursue interest in such areas as personal training, strength and conditioning training, worksite wellness, health promotions, fitness centers, and graduate school. The Integrative Data Science major is a technology-oriented liberal arts major that brings together twenty-first century skills in computer programming, quantitative reasoning, collaboration, communication, design, and creative thinking. Students who pursue this major will develop the skills to collaborate with and lead interdisciplinary teams in many industries. By taking courses and pursuing internships in a range of disciplines, students will acquire flexible and integrative problem-solving skills for a rapidly-changing professional environment.

The Bachelor of Science degree is for those who wish to emphasize their study of chemistry.

Students interested in chemical engineering can participate in the Engineering Dual-Degree Program. Chemical Engineering students complete either a B.A. or B.S. degree in Chemistry at NWU and any remaining engineering program requirements at one of our participating schools of engineering.

For students interested in studying pre-health, a program of study emphasizing a strong background in chemistry is available for students planning a future in medicine.

Admission into the Education Department and additional education departmental coursework is required. This major is designed to prepare students for the teaching profession in Health and Physical Education. With the addition of approximately 37 hours of education requirements, the student will be eligible for a Nebraska Teaching Certificate.

The choice of a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree is available to political science majors. If a student has a second major, the degree choice may be determined by the other major.

This BFA program develops your technical and design skills through experiences in the classroom and performance laboratory.

As you acquire skills and knowledge through classroom and practical experiences, you will progress to supervised design application.

In recent years, our BFA students have participated in an average of six productions per year. Theatre design and technology majors benefit from the wealth of opportunities available through Nebraska Wesleyan's active production schedule.

We also encourage design and technical majors to work closely with faculty as members of the production team and in stage management.
