What You’ll Learn

The Biology, B.S. with a Molecular Biology concentration allows you to undertake cutting-edge independent research with our faculty scientists, and gain real-world experience through internships at leading facilities such as Pfizer, MIT, New York-Presbyterian, and more.

The degree includes a core curriculum in humanities and research principles and practices, followed by coursework in anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, microbiology, genetics, cell biology, evolutionary biology, general and organic chemistry, physics, and calculus.

With the concentration in Molecular Biology, you’ll choose from electives in areas such as virology, genetic engineering, immunology, pharmacology, and more, allowing you to prepare for a career in biotechnology, genetics, biomedical research, and more.

You'll get critical experience through internships at metropolitan area hospitals such as Columbia University Medical Center and New York-Presbyterian Hospital and pharmaceutical companies like Advanced Biotech, Boheringer Ingleheim, and Pfizer.

What You’ll Learn

• Help people from a range of backgrounds and experiences live better lives through counseling, advocacy, and mediation with the Behavioral Sciences-Sociology / Social Work, B.S. You’ll study different social systems—family units, gangs, religious cults, medical systems, and more—and how they’re impacted by race, ethnicity, gender, sexual preference, and social class.

The Data Science, M.S. is designed for students with a computer science or related background interested in pursuing data analytics, machine learning, visualization, and more. You'll study computing theory, languages, and algorithms, and use mathematical and statistical models to formulate and implement data analyses and learn to apply them ethically.
