What You’ll Learn

Delve into the human mind through the Psychology, B.S. in small-sized classes on theories of personality, abnormal psychology, and more. New York Tech’s degree offers you plenty of flexibility through electives, and minors, or even prepare for entry into medical school.

You’ll learn from expert faculty with a broad range of professional experience, including social/health, clinical, cognitive, and developmental psychology. Focused on culturally competent school counseling and social justice, the School Counseling, M.S. helps you become a compassionate, effective advocate for the academic, social, and emotional success of pre-K–12 students.

You’ll gain a broad foundation on prevalent topics in school counseling today, including leadership, group counseling, working with special needs students, college counseling, and school violence prevention. You’ll also acquire the critical experience you need through a practicum and internships under the mentorship of a tenured school counselor in a pre-K–12 school setting.

We also offer a Bilingual Extension, which can be completed simultaneously with your school counseling degree. The extension includes a minimum of six additional credits, as well as bilingual practicum experience to prepare you to work specifically with bilingual/ELL students and their families. NYSED certification will require documented proficiency in the target language by independently passing the New York State Bilingual Assessment (BEA).

What You’ll Learn

• Help people from a range of backgrounds and experiences live better lives through counseling, advocacy, and mediation with the Behavioral Sciences-Sociology / Social Work, B.S. The Engineering Management, B.S. is an interdisciplinary program focusing on the foundations of financial management, project management, operations management, quality control, entrepreneurship, and data-driven management and analysis.
