The Master of Science in Architecture, Health and Design (M.S.AHD) program is a two-semester (plus summer term), 30-credit, post-professional master's degree. We welcome applications from graduates with a background in architecture and design, including healthcare design, interior design, industrial design, product design, etc., as well as those with interest and expertise in design technologies (simulation, visualization, robotic interactions, and fabrication, etc.), computational design, and new materials.

Our coordinated curriculum of design studios, labs, and core and elective courses is threaded with a renovated research-oriented approach to health and design. You'll explore methodologies that include prototyping at the scale of product and industrial design, the performative qualities of interior spaces, the exploration of material innovations, and the organizational diagrams of larger healthcare institutions. A final studio project in the summer term will synthesize professional, historical, theoretical, social, and material knowledge, and explore a multidisciplinary topic at the intersection of design, technology and the medical/healthcare fields.

The Health and Wellness, B.S. program prepares you for a fulfilling career as an administrator in the healthcare industry. You’ll study a range of healthcare topics, from nutrition to bioethics to exercise physiology, as well as administrative skills including healthcare payment systems and health information management. Plus, by adding just two additional courses, you can add a minor in Health Services Administration to your B.S. degree.

Our blended format, including online courses, allows you to complete your degree on your schedule. Senior year includes a one-semester internship in a healthcare setting to give you real-world experience exploring various health disciplines and improving your communication and professional skills. In the Information Technology, B.S., you’ll learn to design, implement, and evaluate computer-based systems and programs to solve an organization’s challenges. You can also tailor your degree to build skills in business, telecommunications, digital media, and database management to suit your goals and interests.

You’ll learn from full-time faculty and have the opportunity to work alongside them on research projects funded by the Department of Defense, National Science Foundation, and more. • The Electrical and Computer Engineering, B.S. offers a balance of theoretical fundamentals and hands-on experiences in a small-class setting—most courses have fewer than 20 students.

Focused on culturally competent school counseling and social justice, the School Counseling, M.S. helps you become a compassionate, effective advocate for the academic, social, and emotional success of pre-K–12 students.

You’ll gain a broad foundation on prevalent topics in school counseling today, including leadership, group counseling, working with special needs students, college counseling, and school violence prevention. You’ll also acquire the critical experience you need through a practicum and internships under the mentorship of a tenured school counselor in a pre-K–12 school setting.

We also offer a Bilingual Extension, which can be completed simultaneously with your school counseling degree. The extension includes a minimum of six additional credits, as well as bilingual practicum experience to prepare you to work specifically with bilingual/ELL students and their families. NYSED certification will require documented proficiency in the target language by independently passing the New York State Bilingual Assessment (BEA).

In the Graphic Design, B.F.A. program, you’ll produce work that demonstrates artistic expression, technical proficiency, and well-informed conceptual ideas.

You’ll take courses in areas from advertising and editorial to information graphics, logos and branding, motion graphics, packaging, typography, and web and interactive design and emerge with a portfolio of work that will demonstrate your professional readiness to future employers.

You’ll gain proficiency with the latest applications and technology—including Adobe Creative Cloud, 3-D printers, and laser cutters—and how to use them in the creation, reproduction, and distribution of visual messages.

Through internships with local agencies and design firms, as well as projects (both individual and collaborative), you’ll prepare to tackle the real-world challenges of being a career-ready graphic designer.

Prepare for a career in the construction industry with a program that melds traditional civil engineering with construction management while focusing on the field’s rapidly changing technology.

What You’ll Learn
The B.S. in Construction Engineering gives you a strong fundamental knowledge of engineering design and management principles. You’ll learn how to apply design theory and practices to produce solutions that support public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors.

As the only B.S. Construction program offered in the New York tri-state area, your studies will include engineering mechanics and graphics, survey and geomatics, construction materials, building construction, concrete and steel structure design, construction management, cost estimating, planning and scheduling, and project management.

You’ll gain additional learning experiences from rich resources that include our Entrepreneurship and Technology Innovation Center, engineering clubs (ASME, SAE, NSBE), and undergraduate research opportunities alongside faculty members as part of our Undergraduate Research & Entrepreneurial Program (UREP).

In your senior year, you’ll complete a capstone design project using the skills developed throughout the curriculum that address economic issues appropriate to the effective practice of engineering and showcasing your written language and oral communication skills.
