The Department of Physics at Pittsburg State University was founded in 1962 and has been dedicated to the outstanding teaching of undergraduate and graduate physics students ever since. Our faculty members are trained in a wide variety of physics-related fields and have industrial and research laboratory experience. The Department of Engineering Technology is housed in the Kansas Technology Center on the Pittsburg State University  campus. Human Communication - Emphasis
Students in the human communication emphasis often work in management, leadership roles, politics, or continue on for advanced studies in the field. This emphasis examines the comprehensive role of human communication in everyday life. Students will learn to understand and analyze communication in a variety of contexts, including interpersonal relationships, workplace teams, and community and cultural groups.

Communication
The Department of Communication offers a Master of Arts degree with a Major in Communication. Students in this degree program will work one-on-one with an advisor to design a program of study that will match their individual career goals and will gain valuable skills in problem-solving, analysis, research methods, and scholarly writing. Courses in the areas of advertising, broadcasting, journalism, international communication, theatre production and performance, public relations, organizational communication, and interpersonal communication are available.

Automotive Mechanical Design - Emphasis
This program is the perfect choice for students whose career plans are to work in automotive corporate or dealer technical positions. An emphasis area within our 4-year Automotive Technology program, the Technical program focuses on the advanced automotive technical areas of the automotive industry.
