Collision Repair and Insurance Management - Emphasis
This program is the perfect choice for students whose career plans are to work in insurance or collision repair positions. An emphasis area within our 4-year Automotive Technology program, the Collision Repair and Insurance Management program focuses on this 10 billion/year sector of the automotive industry.

The Department of Technology and Workforce Learning includes several undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Programs of study include two-year associate and certificate programs as well as several undergraduate degree programs in the Workforce Development, Vocational Teacher Education, Technology and Engineering Education, and Wood Technology.  Graduate programs in Career and Technical Education, Technology, and Human Resource Development are also available.  In addition, one post-graduate program in Workforce Development and Education (Ed.S) is also available.

The Master of Arts Degree in English with an Emphasis in Literature is designed for students who enjoy the challenge of analyzing great works of British, American, and international authors, of engaging with the ideas and themes found in the best that has been thought and said, and of tracing the grand arcs of literary history. This graduate level English degree can be earned by achieving one of three options.

The Department of Art at Pittsburg State University provides students who have an interest in art with a strong foundation in creative critical thinking and design. We offer a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree with four emphasis areas: 2D Studio Art, 3D Studio Art, Illustration and Visual Storytelling, and Art Education. The BFA degree prepares students for a multitude of professional careers in studio, applied arts, and art education, and is also considered fundamental preparation for graduate degrees in the studio arts and art history.

The Department of Art faculty members are all active exhibiting artists and/or research scholars in their own respective art fields. Faculty provide students with insight and guidance as they prepare for their own careers. The student to faculty ratio in the Department of Art is approximately 15 to 1.

All art majors take a series of introductory art courses in a wide range of media, as well as art history courses, and upper level courses in their emphasis area. Additionally, students pursuing a studio art emphasis take a series of professional practice courses that introduce them to the business aspects of being working artists and developing creative careers. Those pursuing the art education emphasis receive a comprehensive art education curriculum. Students also have opportunities to participate in internships in the areas of museum studies and gallery practice or studio and creative industry.

Art  2D Studio - Emphasis
This professional degree program provides the foundational knowledge and skills required for entry into art-related career fields or graduate programs in the arts. All art majors take a series of introductory art courses in a wide range of media, as well as art history courses, and upper level courses in their emphasis area. Additionally, students pursuing a studio art emphasis take a series of professional practices courses that introduce them to the business aspects of being working artists and developing creative careers.

The Master of Science in Mathematics degree provides for advanced study in mathematics. The program prepares students to teach at the community college level, a career in mathematics, or an advanced degree in mathematics.

At the graduate level, Pitt State offers an 18-hour Graduate Certificate in Mathematics and a Master of Science (MS) degree. The 18-hour Graduate Certificate in Mathematics is designed to certify that the recipients have a knowledge base in graduate mathematics requisite in a variety of areas, including collegiate level teaching.

The Department of Management and Marketing is one of the most dynamic and innovative within the Kelce College of Business. Students master foundational business and marketing theory while implementing contemporary concepts.

Management
Successful business managers are much more than bosses, they are team builders. They use a broad range of knowledge and skills to create exciting and effective workplaces.

A Management degree provides students a broad background in organizational behavior, human resources, and field operations, a background suitable for careers in managerial positions in business, government, or any organization. The broad nature of this degree makes it an ideal one to supplement with second major or minor from nearly any discipline.

The Department of Technology and Workforce Learning offers a Master of Science degree with a major in Career and Technical Education. Within the program, students will select from four different emphasis areas. This program is designed to provide preparation for persons interested in qualifying for teaching and administrative positions in health occupations and technical education at the community college and college level.

Options available for the degree:

    Option I: Thesis
        This option is designed to prepare students for a doctoral program, for advanced professional careers, or for students wanting to complete an in-depth research experience.

    Option III: Course Work
        This option requires completion of course work that demonstrates evidence of advanced course work in an area of concentration. Departments will require evidence of competency through activities such as research papers, portfolios, practice, internships, comprehensive exams or other individual work. Students should check with their major department for specific requirements for the coursework.
