The Health and Science Communication (HSC) program is a unique, interdisciplinary program made up of students and faculty who are curious about health and science, who facilitate public engagement with complex information, and who advocate for life-saving and sustaining change.

Immerse yourself in art, science, medicine and digital media technology. You will combine exploration, research and investigation with strong visual communication design and technical skills to connect with audiences through the creation of educational narratives and didactic design.

We’ve designed a flexible curriculum, combining access to Rowan’s science and medicine courses and Rowan’s art’s courses in computer imaging, graphic design, information design, photography and sculpture.

Rowan English majors explore how meaning is made in and through language. They study a wide range of literary texts, learning to read closely, to ask sharp questions, and to write skillfully and with purpose. The mission of the Marketing Program is to prepare students for marketing careers in a rapidly changing business, social, and political environment. The primary goal of this program is to provide students with a full understanding of the functions of business organizations and prepare them to be strong contributors to the marketing function of their organizations.

Data analytics takes a deeper dive into datasets than business analytics. Data analysts have the opportunity to gather, prepare, clean, and present data to business leaders in a clear and concise manner that allows executives to make tough business decisions. This is a fast growing industry with a great demand for highly skilled workers.

Data analytics skills are in demand internationally by all industries. Long term career goals might include positions such as business intelligence analyst, data analyst, data scientist, data engineer, big data engineer, or data analytics consultant.

The M.A. in Strategic Communication offers a flexible structure taught by experienced professionals in public relations, public affairs, advertising, and integrated marketing communications. In our program, you have the freedom to focus on coursework that best matches your professional interests: media relations, strategic writing, event planning and management, visual communication, online public relations, or school public relations.

As we move to an era of decreased reliance on fossil fuels and rapidly diminished available land for development, efficiency in the use of the remaining land and in the sustainability of every dimension of our lifestyles will become ever more critical. In this environment, wise planning will become increasingly necessary. Planners are in demand to fill positions in consulting, industry, government, and non-profit organizations. A masters degree in Urban & Regional Planning is recognized as the terminal degree for this profession, but currently there is only one accredited planning program in our state. This proposed program will focus on all planning fields commonly practiced in southern New Jersey, but at the same time highlight the global significance as they are related to climate change, environmental degradation, sustainability, resiliency, and diversity. This proposed program will accommodate the needs of full-time professionals through a combination of evening and online courses.

Planning is a multidisciplinary field, so the MS program will accept students with undergraduate degrees from both science and liberal arts backgrounds. The MS program is being developed in such a way that graduates become skilled practitioners and are qualified to work within government, private, or nonprofit sectors.

The Master of Science in Bioinformatics (M.S.) prepares our graduates with the skills to immediately contribute in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and biomedical fields. Bioinformatics is a multidisciplinary field of study that focuses on the use of computational information tools in the investigation and analysis of biological, biomedical, and biochemical systems. The industry uses information generated in the lab or clinic for future applications, research, and development.

Our program provides hands-on experience, giving you the opportunity to work on novel research. This includes advanced training in theory and laboratory settings, which allows you to diversify into other biomedical research fields. This program includes the following three focus areas: Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, and Computer Science.
