The B.S. Degree in Biochemistry, an interdisciplinary program, is designed to prepare students for a career in biochemistry or graduate studies. The program combines the value of a liberal education with appropriate classroom and laboratory training in chemistry, biology, math and physics. The focus is on a molecular approach to studying living systems. The biochemistry major can choose to specialize in related areas of chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics or structural biology, pre-med, allied health sciences or biomedical sciences by a careful selection of elective courses. The emphasis in all courses is on the acquisition of a solid knowledge base combined with hands-on laboratory work using modern equipment. Each student is expected to carry out a laboratory-based research project.

An MBA Concentration in Data Analytics is an ideal option for those that want a career that draws on their abilities to develop problem-solving strengths and decision-making skill sets through the use of data analysis, statistical models, and other quantitative methods. Data analytics takes a deeper dive into datasets than business analytics. Data analysts have the opportunity to gather, prepare, clean, and present data to business leaders in a clear and concise manner that allows executives to make tough business decisions. This is a fast growing industry with a great demand for highly skilled workers.

Data analytics skills are in demand internationally by all industries. Long term career goals might include positions such as business intelligence analyst, data analyst, data scientist, data engineer, big data engineer, or data analytics consultant.

Rowan's Physics major balances general physics courses that develop analytical skills needed for any career direction with more advanced courses in highly technical areas. The department also offers coursework in astronomy and astrophysics. Personal attention is a hallmark of the program: enrollment in laboratory-based physics classes is limited to 24 students per section, and all lectures and labs are taught by faculty, not teaching assistants. In our junior-level Research Methods courses, students will have access to state-of-the-art equipment as they plan and execute a project under the direction of our research faculty. Physics majors can enter fields such as education, going on to teach at the secondary level, or pursue an advanced degree to become a college profesor and/or conduct research; others may enter fields such as busiess, computers, engineering, finance, law, and medicine.
