HR Management Concentration

An MBA Concentration in HR Management is an ideal option for those that want a career that builds on their interpersonal skills, communication skills, and emotional intelligence. Explore talent management concepts such as hiring, recruiting, training, and managing staff to ensure that a business’s most important assets (its employees) are well prepared and encouraged to thrive in their everyday work environment. Career roles include recruitment and employee screening, performance management, employee relations, enforcement of disciplinary actions, compensation negotiation, management of employee records, continued education, and so on. HR Management is in demand across an unlimited number of industries. Long term career goals include SHRM certification, HRCI certification, succession planning, HR data and analytics, HR information systems, and introducing/maintaining company culture.

The Master of Arts (M.A.) in Criminal Justice prepares students for leadership positions in criminal justice agencies; for research positions in federal, state, county, city non-profit and private research institutions; and for further study in doctoral programs. This program aims to help students develop their skills to use research to evaluate the effectiveness of programs aimed at preventing and controlling crime. Upon degree completion, graduates will have an understanding of the causes of crime, of the impact of law on society and of contemporary issues in policing, courts and corrections.

Rowan's Physics major balances general physics courses that develop analytical skills needed for any career direction with more advanced courses in highly technical areas. The department also offers coursework in astronomy and astrophysics. Personal attention is a hallmark of the program: enrollment in laboratory-based physics classes is limited to 24 students per section, and all lectures and labs are taught by faculty, not teaching assistants. In our junior-level Research Methods courses, students will have access to state-of-the-art equipment as they plan and execute a project under the direction of our research faculty. Physics majors can enter fields such as education, going on to teach at the secondary level, or pursue an advanced degree to become a college profesor and/or conduct research; others may enter fields such as busiess, computers, engineering, finance, law, and medicine.

Our M.A. in Counseling in Educational Settings prepares professional practitioners in School Counseling to become change agents in their school and community through a system perspective where all students are served. Our program fosters reflection and ambition in our graduates as they participate in a curriculum designed to translate theory into realistic action:

The common themes that unite all geographers are the scientific exploration of the earth and spatial analysis. One branch of geography focuses on people (human geography) and the other branch focuses on the environment (physical geography). There are multiple sub-disciplines within the field that cover everything from geology and climatology to demography and planning.

The Liberal Studies: Humanities/Social Science major offers you the opportunity to pursue multiple areas of study in the humanities and social sciences. The Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences program provides students a broad background in biology, however, maintains flexibility for students to build their own specialty track and prepare for a career.
