The Bachelor of Science in Community and Environmental Planning is a professional degree program that prepares students for positions in local, state, and federal agencies, private companies, planning departments, engineering firms, as well as graduate school programs in planning. The program introduces students to the diversity of the planning profession while providing an understanding of the broader purpose of planning, and the opportunity to focus on practice and application through research and studio credits. Students will gain exposure to the wide array of potential career opportunities within this field through the diverse experience of the full and part-time faculty members employed within the discipline. The planning curriculum at Rowan has a special focus on sustainable community design, land conservation, food systems and the specific planning practices and challenges of the region.

Our Master of Arts in History is tailored toward increasing competence in historical studies for preparatory or supplementary teaching, on both the high school or community college level. The Department of Journalism prepares students to be successful news and media professionals.

Our curriculum is grounded in the fundamentals of journalism history, law and ethics. Students learn the basics of reporting, writing and editing while covering campus events and local news in South Jersey. Our courses also provide the preparation and skills needed to compete in a fast-changing media landscape with courses in social media, data journalism, media metrics and entrepreneurial journalism.

Our M.S. in Data Science prepares graduates with a degree in a STEM-related field for a career in data science. The program provides a strong background in data mining, modeling, and statistical and machine learning. In our curriculm, we build on industry needs, as well as guidelines of the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM) and the Technology Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).

Our Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling is a multi-faceted, intensive program that provides the educational requirements necessary to become a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). The curriculum emphasizes the development of skills in differential diagnosis, conceptualization and development of treatment plans for mental health patients. Our students are exposed to many different aspects of the field, giving them extensive field experience and knowledge of individualized outpatient treatment and counseling.
