Our Master of Arts in History is tailored toward increasing competence in historical studies for preparatory or supplementary teaching, on both the high school or community college level. It is also appropriate if you are seeking qualification for admission to a doctoral program at another institution or if you are pursuing an advanced-level liberal education for intellectual challenge and personal fulfillment. We offer a thesis and non-thesis track.

Our M.A. program is set in the tradition of a Liberal Arts education. Courses offer an opportunity to extend your knowledge and enhance your comprehension of historical studies with Rowan's acclaimed, full-time faculty members.

Our Master of Arts in Mathematics provides an opportunity to pursue advanced study in mathematics and develop the skills to help lead you to success in today's technologically-oriented society. Whether the goal involves applying mathematics to solve problems in business and industry, teaching in higher education, preparing for further graduate study in mathematics or related fields, or working in a rapidly the growing field of big data analysis as a statistician, this program enables each student to pursue a course of study that is appropriate for their interests.

To address these varying interests, we offer three concentrations: Pure Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, and Statistics.

The Master's of Arts in Holocaust and Genocide Education (MA HGE) is the first and only of its kind globally. With equal focus on Holocaust and genocide content, and innovative and effective pedagogies, the MA HGE breaks new ground. This graduate program fills a much-needed gap in higher education. Currently, fifteen states in the U.S. have Holocaust and genocide education mandates, and federal funding has been earmarked to improve Holocaust education nation-wide. The MA HGE bridges a divide between more traditional programs in Holocaust and Genocide Studies and graduate programs in Education in order to help graduate students consider what Holocaust and genocide education can look like across diverse settings. This program is designed for those interested in Holocaust and education broadly, from classroom teachers and curriculum developers, to museum educators, and those interested in working for nonprofits and NGOs. In the MA HGE, graduate students will gain deep content knowledge and the ability to implement effective teaching strategies through customized coursework and an applied capstone project.

The Master of Science in Bioinformatics (M.S.) prepares our graduates with the skills to immediately contribute in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and biomedical fields. Bioinformatics is a multidisciplinary field of study that focuses on the use of computational information tools in the investigation and analysis of biological, biomedical, and biochemical systems. The industry uses information generated in the lab or clinic for future applications, research, and development.

Our program provides hands-on experience, giving you the opportunity to work on novel research. This includes advanced training in theory and laboratory settings, which allows you to diversify into other biomedical research fields. This program includes the following three focus areas: Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, and Computer Science.

Communication is how we form relationships, develop creative ideas, share experiences, and make connections with others. Explore this central and complex part of the human condition across two main specializations: Interpersonal/Organizational Communication or Rhetoric and Cultural Criticism.

From intimate interpersonal settings to mass-mediated public discourse, you will focus on the rich complexity of our lived experiences, created by and represented through communication.

Our M.A. in Higher Education Administrative track is designed to serve professionals without any experience in higher education administration, but who aspire to careers in that field; as well as those who are already practicing administrators in a college or university who wish to upgrade their skills.

Graduates of our Administrative track often pursue higher education careers in student affairs, including residential life, admissions, academic advising, student activity programming, and service-learning/volunteerism.

The department offers a bachelor's degree in human services. The field of human services is a growing professional field. There is increasing demand for human service professionals in the field of child, adult, family and community services in various human service organizations and settings. Human Service professionals work with diverse populations providing a wide variety of social, personal, and health services depending on the need of the individual, group or community. Accordingly, the Human Services degree at Rowan University offers three unique concentration areas: direct care/direct services, administration, and criminal justice. Each concentration area is a total of 9 credits. Students also gain valuable experience during their field internship where they get course credit working at local human service organizations. Field internships allow students the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge to real life experiences.

The mission of the Marketing Program is to prepare students for marketing careers in a rapidly changing business, social, and political environment. The primary goal of this program is to provide students with a full understanding of the functions of business organizations and prepare them to be strong contributors to the marketing function of their organizations.

Marketing is one of the most important functions in business that connects companies with their customers. It is a dynamic and exciting field that combines art with science. Developing a successful marketing strategy encompasses many tasks including marketing research, product or service design, branding, effective communication & promotional programs, pricing, and distributing products to customers.

As a graduate of the Rohrer College of Business, we expect that you will not only be prepared for your first professional job but that you will also be able to continue to learn and develop in order to adapt to career and life changes. While a student at the Rohrer College of Business, you will have the opportunity to develop the skills necessary to succeed in an ever-changing world. Such that, experiential learning is emphasized early on and strengthened in the upper-division classes through project-based learning.

Accounting Concentration
Join one of the most flexible and customizable MBA programs in the country to hone your skills in specific targeted areas of business – or explore building knowledge across sectors – to expand your insights and set yourself apart from the competition.

An MBA Concentration in Accounting is an ideal option for those that want a career that draws on their quantitative strengths and detail-oriented skill sets along with working on cyclical and special projects involving advising, problem-solving, management and planning. Explore preparing and using financial reporting statements, mastering budgeting processes and operational planning, and advanced accounting principles that are crucial for careers in roles such as CPA, tax manager, budget analyst, or auditing manager. Accounting talent is in demand across diverse industries such as insurance, healthcare, or information technology, as well as in the public sector, serving accounting or financial management functions in nonprofit or government. Long term career goals might include positions such as chief financial officer, financial analyst, or financial manager.

Rowan's Physics major balances general physics courses that develop analytical skills needed for any career direction with more advanced courses in highly technical areas. The department also offers coursework in astronomy and astrophysics. Personal attention is a hallmark of the program: enrollment in laboratory-based physics classes is limited to 24 students per section, and all lectures and labs are taught by faculty, not teaching assistants. In our junior-level Research Methods courses, students will have access to state-of-the-art equipment as they plan and execute a project under the direction of our research faculty. Physics majors can enter fields such as education, going on to teach at the secondary level, or pursue an advanced degree to become a college profesor and/or conduct research; others may enter fields such as busiess, computers, engineering, finance, law, and medicine.
