The Master's of Arts in Holocaust and Genocide Education (MA HGE) is the first and only of its kind globally. With equal focus on Holocaust and genocide content, and innovative and effective pedagogies, the MA HGE breaks new ground. This graduate program fills a much-needed gap in higher education. Currently, fifteen states in the U.S. have Holocaust and genocide education mandates, and federal funding has been earmarked to improve Holocaust education nation-wide. The MA HGE bridges a divide between more traditional programs in Holocaust and Genocide Studies and graduate programs in Education in order to help graduate students consider what Holocaust and genocide education can look like across diverse settings. This program is designed for those interested in Holocaust and education broadly, from classroom teachers and curriculum developers, to museum educators, and those interested in working for nonprofits and NGOs. In the MA HGE, graduate students will gain deep content knowledge and the ability to implement effective teaching strategies through customized coursework and an applied capstone project.

The Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Geology are physical science majors composed of foundation courses in science and mathematics; core courses in geology; and upper-level geoscience electives. Rowan English majors explore how meaning is made in and through language. They study a wide range of literary texts, learning to read closely, to ask sharp questions, and to write skillfully and with purpose. Rowan English majors form a unique and diverse learning community—one that celebrates intellectual curiosity, civic responsibility, and the rigors of research and critical analysis. At all levels of the curriculum, English majors engage with questions of genre, form, style, author, and audience as well as with questions of history, nation, culture, and social identity. The Bachelor of Science in Community and Environmental Planning is a professional degree program that prepares students for positions in local, state, and federal agencies, private companies, planning departments, engineering firms, as well as graduate school programs in planning. The program introduces students to the diversity of the planning profession while providing an understanding of the broader purpose of planning, and the opportunity to focus on practice and application through research and studio credits. Students will gain exposure to the wide array of potential career opportunities within this field through the diverse experience of the full and part-time faculty members employed within the discipline.
