Our M.S. in Computer Science provides a higher level of understanding in computational science and its application to a variety of fields, including education, industry, research, business and government. Our M.A. in Higher Education Academic Advising track is designed for professionals who are seeking advising careers at two- or four-year institutions. These advising roles are found throughout higher education, whether in an advising center, an academic department or college, a tutoring center, or other specialized academic settings.

Our M.A. in Counseling in Educational Settings prepares professional practitioners in School Counseling to become change agents in their school and community through a system perspective where all students are served. The Master of Arts (M.A.) in Criminal Justice prepares students for leadership positions in criminal justice agencies; for research positions in federal, state, county, city non-profit and private research institutions; and for further study in doctoral programs. This program aims to help students develop their skills to use research to evaluate the effectiveness of programs aimed at preventing and controlling crime. Upon degree completion, graduates will have an understanding of the causes of crime, of the impact of law on society and of contemporary issues in policing, courts and corrections.

In an economic world in which competitive advantage is increasingly based on knowledge and creativity, effective Human Resources functions are crucial for organizations that want to improve their productivity. The Rowan University Human Resources Management program prepares graduates for the profession using a blend of classroom, extra-, and co-curricular experiences, such as internships and project-based learning assignments.

The Bachelor of Science in Community and Environmental Planning is a professional degree program that prepares students for positions in local, state, and federal agencies, private companies, planning departments, engineering firms, as well as graduate school programs in planning. The program introduces students to the diversity of the planning profession while providing an understanding of the broader purpose of planning, and the opportunity to focus on practice and application through research and studio credits. Students will gain exposure to the wide array of potential career opportunities within this field through the diverse experience of the full and part-time faculty members employed within the discipline. The planning curriculum at Rowan has a special focus on sustainable community design, land conservation, food systems and the specific planning practices and challenges of the region.

The undergraduate Law and Justice Studies program provides an interdisciplinary approach to the study of crime, the function of criminal law and the criminal justice system. The program focuses on preparing students for professional careers in the major areas of law enforcement and security services, court services, corrections and human services by combining academically challenging coursework with practical work experience through internships. The program provides the rigorous preparation necessary for students who wish to continue their education at the graduate level.

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) has become one of the hottest areas of interest for students and a highly marketable skill. Often listed as a "recession-proof" job, GIS technicians, analysts and specialists find employment in planning and engineering firms, in state and local government, and in many non-profit and advocacy organizations. Spatial analysis allows us to explore complex data sets and see how many environmental factors can impact a place. Visualization tools that are a part of GIS software allow us to explore data in 3D and across time periods. GIS is the tool to explore our world.

The Bachelor of Science in Geographic Information Science (B.S.GIS) major is a professional degree program that prepares students for a range of careers dealing with geospatial technologies, modeling, and spatial problem-solving. Graduates of our program are well-prepared for positions in research laboratories, local, state, and federal agencies, private companies, planning departments, engineering firms, and many others. Our students are also excellently prepared for pursuing advanced graduate degree programs. The B.S. GIS program provides students with in-depth skills in GIS analysis and programming. The program at Rowan has a special focus on web-based mapping, environmental sustainability and the emerging field of geodesign which coordinates well with our planning offerings.

The MA in Diversity and Inclusion will educate professionals who can help create diverse workspaces where innovation can thrive when people are able to work, volunteer, and govern because of their differences. Rooted in ethnographic methodology, the program will provide students with knowledge and methodologies to help specific organizations or institutions work towards building diverse and inclusive communities. This work requires deep knowledge of cultures, history, ideas, social structures, institutions, and politics, the breadth of what Humanities and Social Sciences has to offer.

The Bachelor of Science (BS) in Geology are physical science majors composed of foundation courses in science and mathematics; core courses in geology; and upper-level geoscience electives.BS programs are designed to prepare students to enter the geoscience workforce in consulting firms or government agencies; pursue professional studies; or undertake advanced graduate studies in geoscience disciplines. Students in the BS in Geology program will concentrate in one of four tracks designed to fit the academic and career aspirations of individual students: general geosciences, applied geology, global climate change and paleontology.
