Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at Rowan is a modern, innovative, hands-on project-based program, where we train and graduate proficient engineers who will be successful in solving not only today’s problems, but also tomorrow’s evolving and emerging engineering challenges. The Bachelor of Science in Community and Environmental Planning is a professional degree program that prepares students for positions in local, state, and federal agencies, private companies, planning departments, engineering firms, as well as graduate school programs in planning. The program introduces students to the diversity of the planning profession while providing an understanding of the broader purpose of planning, and the opportunity to focus on practice and application through research and studio credits. Students will gain exposure to the wide array of potential career opportunities within this field through the diverse experience of the full and part-time faculty members employed within the discipline. The planning curriculum at Rowan has a special focus on sustainable community design, land conservation, food systems and the specific planning practices and challenges of the region.

Rowan's Physics major balances general physics courses that develop analytical skills needed for any career direction with more advanced courses in highly technical areas. The department also offers coursework in astronomy and astrophysics. Personal attention is a hallmark of the program: enrollment in laboratory-based physics classes is limited to 24 students per section, and all lectures and labs are taught by faculty, not teaching assistants. In our junior-level Research Methods courses, students will have access to state-of-the-art equipment as they plan and execute a project under the direction of our research faculty. Physics majors can enter fields such as education, going on to teach at the secondary level, or pursue an advanced degree to become a college profesor and/or conduct research; others may enter fields such as busiess, computers, engineering, finance, law, and medicine.

Our Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering prepares professionals to respond to the changing needs of engineers today. This program provides you with the necessary knowledge, skill set, and training to effectively contribute to the engineering workforce. As a student, you have access to higher-level courses that lead to a graduate degree, and are involved in professional development opportunities that increase the breadth of understanding and application of engineering principles.

A research-based degree, the M.S. in Biomedical Engineering includes additional graduate-level Biomedical Engineering coursework, which gives you an opportunity to expand your skill set in advanced topics of interest. Those advanced topics include Biomaterials Engineering, Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine, Bioinstrumentation, Biomechanics and Mechanobiology, Immunoengineering, and other emerging areas.

Our Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling is a multi-faceted, intensive program that provides the educational requirements necessary to become a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). It is also an appropriate degree path if you are interested in research positions, plan to pursue a doctoral degree, are going to teach, or are seeking human service positions.

The curriculum emphasizes the development of skills in differential diagnosis, conceptualization and development of treatment plans for mental health patients.
