Our Master of Arts in History is tailored toward increasing competence in historical studies for preparatory or supplementary teaching, on both the high school or community college level. Rowan's Physics major balances general physics courses that develop analytical skills needed for any career direction with more advanced courses in highly technical areas. The department also offers coursework in astronomy and astrophysics. Personal attention is a hallmark of the program: enrollment in laboratory-based physics classes is limited to 24 students per section, and all lectures and labs are taught by faculty, not teaching assistants. In our junior-level Research Methods courses, students will have access to state-of-the-art equipment as they plan and execute a project under the direction of our research faculty. Physics majors can enter fields such as education, going on to teach at the secondary level, or pursue an advanced degree to become a college profesor and/or conduct research; others may enter fields such as busiess, computers, engineering, finance, law, and medicine.

Our Master of Science in Civil & Environmental Engineering provides interdisciplinary coursework designed to increase the understanding and application of engineering principles. All of our program faculty possess expertise in transportation, geo-technology, structures, water resources, and the environment. Courses include applied, hands-on education, and build the knowledge and training needed for students to contribute to the engineering field.

Interdisciplinary areas include mechanics and materials, and sustainability. This specialization also includes the following focus areas: Mechanics and Materials; Signals, Systems and Computational Intelligence; Sustainability; and Transportation Engineering.

The Bachelor of Science (BS) in Geology are physical science majors composed of foundation courses in science and mathematics; core courses in geology; and upper-level geoscience electives.BS programs are designed to prepare students to enter the geoscience workforce in consulting firms or government agencies; pursue professional studies; or undertake advanced graduate studies in geoscience disciplines. Students in the BS in Geology program will concentrate in one of four tracks designed to fit the academic and career aspirations of individual students: general geosciences, applied geology, global climate change and paleontology.
