The Rowan University Chemical Engineering Program is a student-centered, primarily undergraduate program that incorporates leading-edge educational methods and technology with engineering practice. We prepare students for careers in the global chemical process industry and related fields, and for advanced degree study. Our program provides students with a strong foundation in chemical engineering science and design, and emphasizes the development of effective communication and teaming skills, and professional responsibility in preparation for a career in a diverse global workforce. Throughout the curriculum, students are exposed to chemical engineering methods using hands-on, state-of-the-art experiments, modern computer tools, and problem synthesis and solution approaches. The Chemical Engineering Program is committed to technical excellence, professional responsibility, and lifelong learning.

A  full range of theatre and dance production opportunities complements coursework and allows students to develop performance and production skills by creating live theatre.  All students may participate in the department's annual faculty-directed mainstage and/or student productions. These projects provide students with practical experience as performers, directors, designers and technicians, and enhances skills learned in the classroom.

Concentration in Design Technical
Intensively study set, light, costume and sound design along with stage management, technical theater, carpentry and electrics. Combine your class design experience with stage work on both our student-produced company and on our main stage while still a student!

Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management is a relevant and timely major especially with the current and impending threat of universal terrorism, the impact of climate change and natural disasters, and the enhanced need to address issues related to public safety and national security. Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management is an innovative and interdisciplinary degree program that focuses on training students in areas that impact human welfare locally, nationally, and globally. The program has a distinctive emphasis on urban issues and environments and the role that ethics plays in how policies, politics, and practices shape the quality of life for human beings in our state, nation, and world.

The department offers a bachelor's degree in human services. The field of human services is a growing professional field. There is increasing demand for human service professionals in the field of child, adult, family and community services in various human service organizations and settings. Human Service professionals work with diverse populations providing a wide variety of social, personal, and health services depending on the need of the individual, group or community. Accordingly, the Human Services degree at Rowan University offers three unique concentration areas: direct care/direct services, administration, and criminal justice. Each concentration area is a total of 9 credits. Students also gain valuable experience during their field internship where they get course credit working at local human service organizations. Field internships allow students the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge to real life experiences.

The Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) Mathematics major consists of 120 semester hours. The major requires students to take courses in logic, physics, computer science and applied and theoretical mathematics. Students in consultation with faculty advisors can construct flexible and comprehensive programs. The program prepares students to find careers in business, industry, government or education in positions such as researchers, actuaries, statisticians, analysts or teachers.

Communication is how we form relationships, develop creative ideas, share experiences, and make connections with others. Explore this central and complex part of the human condition across two main specializations: Interpersonal/Organizational Communication or Rhetoric and Cultural Criticism.

From intimate interpersonal settings to mass-mediated public discourse, you will focus on the rich complexity of our lived experiences, created by and represented through communication.

Accounting talent is in demand across diverse industries such as insurance, healthcare, or information technology, as well as in the public sector, serving accounting or financial management functions in nonprofit or government. Long term career goals might include positions such as chief financial officer, financial analyst, or financial manager.

Our Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering prepares professionals to respond to the changing needs of engineers today. This program provides you with the necessary knowledge, skill set, and training to effectively contribute to the engineering workforce. As a student, you have access to higher-level courses that lead to a graduate degree, and are involved in professional development opportunities that increase the breadth of understanding and application of engineering principles.

A research-based degree, the M.S. in Biomedical Engineering includes additional graduate-level Biomedical Engineering coursework, which gives you an opportunity to expand your skill set in advanced topics of interest. Those advanced topics include Biomaterials Engineering, Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine, Bioinstrumentation, Biomechanics and Mechanobiology, Immunoengineering, and other emerging areas.

The Bachelor of Arts degree is designed for careers in environmental consulting, management, science writing, or science education. While also rigorous, the BA is a more flexible pathway with enough free electives to permit a second major in areas such as Education, Communications, Environmental & Sustainability Studies, or Geology.

BA students integrate the foundations of biology, chemistry, physics and other core STEM disciplines with their understanding of environmental issues. Environmental scientists are on the front line of documenting environment change and developing solutions to modern problems that impact everyone on Earth.
