The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the AUM College of Sciences will prepare you for a career in computer programming, networking, database management, multimedia design or technology architecture.

Maybe you want to know how cybersecurity techniques protect consumers and businesses. If you are curious about these or other technology-related issues, consider joining us in this hands-on, learn-by-doing Computer Science program.

The program is designed to provide a solid foundation necessary for graduates to succeed in the computer industry and in graduate studies. In addition to obtaining general computer science training, you will learn multi-core architectures and programming. High Performance Computing is the main theme of this degree program.

You’ll get a dual degree: one in your content area of expertise — English, math, history/social science, or science— and one in Secondary Education. A Secondary Education General Science degree prepares students to teach general science courses in the areas of chemistry, earth and space science, physics, and biology at the middle, junior, and senior high school levels (grades 6-12).

Health Sciences offers a rewarding career in healthcare and related fields. If you plan to go on to medical school or another health professional school, you’ll need a bachelor’s degree and a set of prerequisite courses, so it makes sense to choose a concentration within your major in which you are interested, and one that contains as many of the prerequisite courses as possible. Most of the prerequisite courses come from chemistry, physics, and mathematics, the courses needed for the chemistry major. So, you will be earning your degree at the same time you are meeting the requirements for professional school.

The importance of marketing is amplified by the fact that marketing activities consti­tute one-half of the total cost of an average product and that a marketing orientation is linked with the purpose of any business or organization; that is, serving customer needs. The program of study in marketing provides the knowledge students need to successfully create customer value in a dynamic environment. Creating customer value requires a balance between thinking logically and creatively, and the marketing special­ization challenges students to do both. Students also have opportunities to develop interpersonal and communication capabilities, and valuable skills in demand by local, national and international employers.

The Chemistry Professional option is designed for students who wish to become working chemists, as well as those who plan to attend graduate school in chemistry. A few of the career possibilities you might consider are:

The employment world for chemical professionals can be divided into five main sectors: industry, academia, government, non-profit, and entrepreneurship, according to the American Chemical Society. There are many job titles associated with each of these sectors, such as analytical chemist, chemistry teacher, forensic scientist, geochemist, hazardous waste chemist, materials scientist and many more.

Maybe your passion is making that next big scientific discovery, or protecting the environment by analyzing and reporting on contaminated water. The Bachelor of Science in Chemistry degree from AUM’s College of Sciences provides an excellent background for many different careers, prepares you for graduate school, or helps pave the way toward seeking admission to medical school or other professional health degree programs. The BSBA in Entrepreneurships prepare graduates to:

• Identify and acquire the resources needed for the creation and implementation of a new venture, including financial, human, and managerial resources
• Understand risk and its effect on new ventures and analyze financial data to support business decisions and assessment of business strategies
