With a bachelor’s degree from AUM’s Criminal Justice program, you’ll be qualified for a variety of criminal justice jobs at the local, state, and federal level. You’ll take at least one course from each of the specialization options: law enforcement, corrections, juvenile justice and security administration. This major provides broad academic preparation in both general education and advanced course work of a specialized nature in either the criminal justice track or the legal studies track. Students in this program get hands-on experience during their internship.

Students in grades 6 through 12 need committed educators dedicated to enriching their lives and helping them master the secondary school curriculum. You’ll get a dual degree: one in your content area of expertise — English, math, history/social science, or science— and one in Secondary Education. Sociologists study social life, social change, diverse communities and their interactions, and they use scientific methods to find empirical answers to complex social questions. Studying sociology can help foster your creativity, innovation, critical thinking, analytic problem solving, and communication skills.

Environmental scientists use their knowledge of earth’s systems to protect the environment and human health. They do this by cleaning up contaminated areas, making policy recommendations, or working with industry to reduce pollution and waste. Soil and plant scientists, and ecologists often work in remediation efforts, for a sanitation company, in manufacturing, at a university, or for a not-for-profit organization. Other environmental scientists are engaged in environmental policy, planning, and management for local governments, performing research-intensive work. Some professionals in this field have careers at the Environmental Protection Agency, the National Park Service, the United States Geological Survey and other agencies.

If you want an in-demand career that allows you to play a critical role in the healthcare system, choose the Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science. You’ll become the go-to person for detecting and diagnosing disease because you’ll be the one analyzing blood, tissue, and other samples. In AUM’s program, you’ll study chemistry, hematology, immunology, immunohematology, and microbiology—and put that theoretical knowledge to work in AUM’s laboratory-based training. Most medical laboratory scientists work in hospitals, but you can also work in:
