Exercise Science
The Exercise Science program is a dynamic and exciting major preparing students for careers in human performance, training and conditioning, corporate fitness and wellness.  Clinical and preventive areas of preparation include cardiac rehabilitation, pre-physical therapy and health promotion.  The AUM Exercise Science program is an educationally recognized program (ERP) by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) for its outstanding program leading to careers in athletic strength conditioning. An internship is required.

The employment world for chemical professionals can be divided into five main sectors: industry, academia, government, non-profit, and entrepreneurship, according to the American Chemical Society. There are many job titles associated with each of these sectors, such as analytical chemist, chemistry teacher, forensic scientist, geochemist, hazardous waste chemist, materials scientist and many more.

Maybe your passion is making that next big scientific discovery, or protecting the environment by analyzing and reporting on contaminated water. The Bachelor of Science in Chemistry degree from AUM’s College of Sciences provides an excellent background for many different careers, prepares you for graduate school, or helps pave the way toward seeking admission to medical school or other professional health degree programs. With its low student-professor ratio, AUM offers you plenty of opportunities to strap on your goggles and join your professors in hands-on research. Choose from three concentrations: Chemistry, Professional Chemistry, and Health Sciences Chemistry.

In professional practice, highly creative fine artists work in fine- or commercial-art studios located in office buildings, warehouses, or lofts. Others work in private studios in their homes. Some artists share studio space, where they also may exhibit their work.

The Department of Fine Arts offers the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a Painting and Drawing concentration. You’ll spend most of your time getting practical, hands-on experience, guided by experienced faculty. Class sizes tend to be small which promotes student and faculty interaction. The visual arts training this program provides, along with the other liberal arts components of the curriculum, is a solid foundation for jobs in advertising, marketing, crafts, entrepreneurship and other career endeavors.

In this AUM program, you can develop your own artistic voice as you develop into a visual artist. You will have the opportunity to:

The program is affiliated with the National Society for Human Resources Management and has a curriculum that presents state-of-the-art practices in human resources. Students are provided with the knowledge and skills needed to be competitive in this constantly changing field.

The six-course HRM core requires work in personnel management, selection, labor relations, compensation, training, and labor law. Beyond the six-required HRM courses, students can tailor their program with the choice of two HRSM elective courses.

Build a career helping businesses hire, train, manage, and keep the best employees with AUM’s College of Business Human Resource Management concentration within the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree.

At AUM, you’ll develop practical skills in leadership, conflict resolution, problem-solving, testing and assessment and people management. You’ll learn about compensation, health and safety, and labor law as you also become skilled at hiring the right people and keeping your hires happy and productive. You’ll get a dual degree: one in your content area of expertise — English, math, history/social science, or science— and one in Secondary Education. To meet the needs of today’s organizations — and ensure that its business school students graduate with a set of skills that will set them apart in the marketplace — the College of Business designed its Entrepreneurship program to challenge students in a new way and inspire creative thinking. Our faculty – many of them successful practitioners in their field – deliver hands-on instruction in small-class environments.

The BSBA in Entrepreneurships prepare graduates to:

• Develop an effective, innovative business plan
• Identify and acquire the resources needed for the creation and implementation of a new venture, including financial, human, and managerial resources
• Understand risk and its effect on new ventures and analyze financial data to support business decisions and assessment of business strategies
• Identify, analyze, and understand potential market behaviors that would enhance value creation and profitability
• Lead the entrepreneurial process, from idea generation to the commercialization and implementation of the new business venture

The AUM Political Science major offers a variety of courses exploring the multiple and various dimensions of politics. Our courses provide an understanding of the forces that shape the lives of citizens in the United States and around the world.

• In courses on American politics, students learn about the complex relationship among Congress, the presidency, and other political institutions; the impact of money on campaigns and elections, and the role of race in politics.
• In international relations courses, students study the implications of an international environment without a supranational government and how that environment leads countries to be the most important entities in world politics and, in turn, makes the international relations realm of power politics and cooperation more difficult to achieve.
• In comparative politics courses, students explore the factors that make democracy more or less likely, how the transition to democracy can create instabilities, and how differences in countries’ electoral systems can lead to government instability.
• In public administration courses, students examine the relationship among political actors, institutions, and bureaucratic organizations to understand the issues related to effective governance.
