Art historians study how societies across time and around the world have expressed themselves through an essential form of human expression—art.

Our Bachelor of Arts degree in art (formal option - art history) provides you with an understanding of the historical and intellectual significance of a range of artistic forms and practices around the world, from prehistoric times to the present. You’ll learn about scholarly issues in art history and become familiar with a variety of research methods used by art historians.   

With its visually and intellectually stimulating study of art and visual culture, a minor in art history is ideal for any major. You will develop numerous transferable skills including writing, research, critical thinking, visual analysis, and verbal communication. These skills are valuable in professions such as law, medicine, communication, business, and museum and gallery work.

Our English literature major engages your curiosity and imagination and provides you with tools to critically read works from different periods, genres, and authors. You’ll explore literary and cultural texts, primarily in the British and American traditions. You’ll develop the ability to construct arguments from texts, be conversant in the terms of a particular genre and the historical period, and be able to write using a critical approach.

This non-thesis degree program provides a mix of theoretical and applied background for students interested in a career in statistics. The curriculum delivers the necessary technical, analytical, and interpretive skills required of professional statisticians. It also concentrates on education in the fundamentals of statistics and its interdisciplinary nature. Geology is the study of the Earth, including its materials, processes, and history. Basic materials studied are rocks, minerals, and fossils. Also included are resources such as metals, gemstones, fossil fuels, and groundwater. Processes are those found deep within the Earth where temperatures and pressures are high, as well as those that take place under low-temperature, low-pressure conditions at the Earth's surface, where organic as well as inorganic processes are found. The history of the planet is recorded in rock and mineral products and in the record of life as preserved by fossils.

Our Bachelor of Fine Arts in theatre management leads to a professional career as a stage or production manager for theaters, concert venues, or theme parks. You’ll take courses in stage management, production management, and events management, as well as related courses in civic engagement, public relations, and business. There are numerous opportunities on and off-campus for hands-on experience as a house manager, production assistant, events manager, assistant stage manager, or production stage manager.
