Auburn’s Wildlife Enterprise Management (WLEM) degree is one of only two such programs in the United States.  This cross-disciplinary degree program, founded on the basic principles of wildlife management, hospitality services, and business management, ensures that graduates are prepared for employment at any of thousands of hunting and fishing lodges, ranches, corporate retreat facilities, and other consumptive use facilities worldwide.

The degree is collaboratively taught by world-renowned faculty from the School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences and the Colleges of Business and Human Sciences.  With this program, students gain the necessary skill set required of graduates and access to a wide range of internship opportunities across the globe. This combination of innovative classroom instruction and real-world experience assures graduates are able to take advantage of abundant career opportunities.

A Bachelor of Arts in international studies prepares you for work in business, non-profit, foreign and civil service, and government. It is also an excellent foundation for law school or other graduate study. You choose a region of the world to study and then participate in an internship or service learning experience related to that area. International studies coursework emphasizes the communication, collaboration, and discipline specific skills necessary to work in diverse cultural settings.

Marine biological research is conducted by five faculty members who share an interest in how marine organisms evolve, function, and interact with the environment in the world’s oceans. Marine biological studies at Auburn span all levels of organization from molecular genetics to community structure and ecosystem functioning. Projects involve campus-based laboratory research as well as field studies in Atlantic, Caribbean, tropical Indo-Pacific, and Antarctic seas.

The major in agricultural science offers a broad base of knowledge and expertise across a variety of agricultural disciplines. The cross-disciplinary program was developed in response to a growing and more diverse agricultural industry as well as the increased need among related industries for a more broadly skilled workforce.

An agricultural science degree will prepare you for careers in such fields as agribusiness, extension, government agencies, production agriculture and commodity groups. It is also an excellent foundation for graduate studies and an ideal double-major for Auburn agriscience education students.

What you’ll Study
We call agricultural science the big-picture major because it offers a broad overview of 21st-century agriculture. As a student in the program, you’ll take courses that run the gamut from crop science, entomology and landscape gardening to agribusiness marketing, farm equipment repair and aquaculture production.

With a growing emphasis on preventative health care and interest in health, wellness and improved quality of life among consumers and employers, Auburn University's degree option in Nutrition and Wellness is designed to prepare students for successful career entry into the broad health and wellness professions. A multitude of career opportunities now present themselves throughout the voluntary, public and private sectors as employers, employees and private citizens alike are expressing great interest in a healthier working and/or living environment. Successful graduates will provide the education and counselling necessary to help citizens lead healthier and better quality lives, while helping employers improve employee productivity through the provision of a healthier workplace environment.

Social workers aim to enhance the well-being of individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities with a particular focus on advocating with and on behalf of individuals who are vulnerable and oppressed.

The Bachelor of Arts (BA) in social work is a dynamic degree program that equips you with the professional knowledge, values, and skills to engage in generalist social work practice across social work settings. You'll engage in practicums and internships to gain real-world experience. You'll learn from professors who have both research and clinical backgrounds in mental health, children and families, gerontology, policy analysis, disabilities, crisis management, and homelessness.

Our School of Fisheries, Aquaculture & Aquatic Sciences is the one of the world’s premier warm-water fisheries programs. As a student majoring in fisheries, aquaculture and aquatic sciences, you’ll receive a strong foundation in chemistry, mathematics and biology while learning how to apply these subjects to managing fresh and saltwater aquatic resources.

This degree will equip you with an understanding of the principles used in solving problems with aquatic resources and the awareness to provide safe, reliable food through aquaculture production. Graduates of this program are also prepared for veterinary medicine and other professional and graduate schools.

Our Bachelor of Arts in public administration will prepare you for success in public service. You’ll develop the skills needed to assume major leadership roles in local, state, and national governments, community service groups, and non-profit organizations.

The visual media option is a practice-based sequence of courses designed to develop skills applicable to narrative and documentary films, commercials, branded video, and animation. You’ll learn how to write, direct, film, edit, color grade, composite, and design sound. You’ll complete a mix of individual and collaborative projects designed to develop conceptual and technical film and media-making skills.
