The Department of Aerospace Engineering offers both a thesis and non-thesis Master of Science, which provide students an opportunity to sharpen their skills in aerospace system design, development, manufacturing, maintenance, and operation. The non-thesis Master of Cybersecurity Engineering positions students to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to protect our nation's systems against cyber attacks. The program will provide graduates with advanced knowledge in computer and network security, digital forensics, advanced operating systems, reverse engineering, and other areas of expertise.

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics (DMS) at Auburn University has over 50 professors representing diverse areas of pure mathematics, applied mathematics, and statistics. Many of the general undergraduate classes are capped at under 30 students, meaning they are able to offer students personal attention and close contact with faculty. Biomedical science combines the fields of biology and medicine in order to focus on the health of both animals and humans. As a biomedical science major, you'll study biochemical and physiological functions, anatomical and histological structures, epidemiology, and pharmacology.

Our creative writing major is an exciting learning experience that spans multiple genres. You’ll take courses that focus on the “architecture” of stories, poems, and essays; learn how each piece works; and apply those lessons to the creation of your original work. Workshops, conferences, and discussions of craft are the focal point of classroom instruction.

Our Department of Horticulture has been recognized nationally for its research programs, its student-centered faculty members and its high rate of employment for graduates. As a horticulture major, you’ll learn how to establish, propagate, harvest and manage fruits, vegetables and ornamental plants. You’ll also learn the principles of landscape design to create and manage aesthetically pleasing environments.

Emphasis in Landscape Horticulture
The landscape horticulture major option track will provide you with the opportunity to combine the science of horticulture and your creative abilities in creating aesthetically beautiful, inviting and functional environments. You will learn valuable skills that will provide you with the competitive edge employers are looking for.

Landscape horticulturists use the principles of design and the appropriate plant material to create both residential and commercial landscapes.

This degree produces graduates who are able to identify, formulate, analyze and solve complex biosystems engineering problems by using appropriate tools and techniques, including independent research, and who can effectively communicate to technical and non-technical audiences. Graduates are prepared for employment in national laboratories, industry and universities, and are able to design, develop, regulate, research and manage the systems and technologies needed to produce, transport, store and use natural resources to meet humanity’s most fundamental needs such as safe and abundant food, clean water, fiber, and renewable sources of fuel; and bio-based life-enhancing and life-saving products.

The Department of Biological Science offers three majors leading to the Bachelor of Science degree (Marine Biology; Microbial, Cellular & Molecular Biology; Organismal Biology).  The curricula for these majors are designed to provide students with a solid foundation in biology as well as providing the opportunity for specialization.  All of these majors also provide a strong preparation for further study in graduate programs or in professional schools, including medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine and other allied health fields.
