The BA curriculum in Chemistry provides a strong background in chemistry while allowing students to specialize in areas of interest. It is especially well suited for students leaning towards medical sciences while allowing more flexibility than that allowed in the American Chemical Society approved biochemistry curriculum. The non-thesis Master of Science in Materials Engineering provides students an advanced level of knowledge in mechanical properties, materials structure, materials thermodynamics, kinetics and electrical, optical and magnetic properties of materials.

Marine biological research is conducted by five faculty members who share an interest in how marine organisms evolve, function, and interact with the environment in the world’s oceans. Marine biological studies at Auburn span all levels of organization from molecular genetics to community structure and ecosystem functioning. Projects involve campus-based laboratory research as well as field studies in Atlantic, Caribbean, tropical Indo-Pacific, and Antarctic seas.

The Master of Public Administration degree program at Auburn University is a NASPAA-accredited program with diverse course offerings, dedicated faculty actively engaged in research, and an internship requirement that builds successful leaders for careers in public service.

The mission of the Auburn University MPA program is to advance effective and accountable public service in a dynamic, increasingly global environment that includes government agencies and nonprofit organizations. The Department of Biological Science offers three majors leading to the Bachelor of Science degree (Marine Biology; Microbial, Cellular & Molecular Biology; Organismal Biology).  The curricula for these majors are designed to provide students with a solid foundation in biology as well as providing the opportunity for specialization.  All of these majors also provide a strong preparation for further study in graduate programs or in professional schools, including medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine and other allied health fields.
