This degree produces graduates who are able to identify, formulate, analyze and solve complex biosystems engineering problems by using appropriate tools and techniques, including independent research, and who can effectively communicate to technical and non-technical audiences. Graduates are prepared for employment in national laboratories, industry and universities, and are able to design, develop, regulate, research and manage the systems and technologies needed to produce, transport, store and use natural resources to meet humanity’s most fundamental needs such as safe and abundant food, clean water, fiber, and renewable sources of fuel; and bio-based life-enhancing and life-saving products.

The program, a joined offering of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering, is designed to develop within its graduates a basic foundation in wireless engineering that will provide the technical proficiency needed for the professional practice of engineering in the wireless industry, the ability to communicate their ideas effectively within the technical community and the general public and an enthusiasm for lifelong scientific inquiry.

To complete the program you must:

• Choose a specialized track - wireless hardware or wireless software
• For the wireless hardware track, complete coursework including circuit analysis, communications, digital systems, electronics, electromagnetism and wireless communications and networks
• For the wireless software track, complete coursework including wireless software engineering, embedded systems, software process and quality assurance

Our Environmental Science major program is an interdisciplinary degree, incorporating studies such as soil science, physics, chemistry, biology and geology. Applied mathematics is a branch of mathematics that deals with mathematical methods that find use in science, engineering, business, computer science, and industry. Thus, applied mathematics is a combination of mathematical science and specialized knowledge. The term "applied mathematics" also describes the professional specialty in which mathematicians work on practical problems by formulating and studying mathematical models. In the past, practical applications have motivated the development of mathematical theories, which then became the subject of study in pure mathematics where abstract concepts are studied for their own sake. The activity of applied mathematics is thus intimately connected with research in pure mathematics.

Students will develop demonstrated capabilities in core chemical engineering topics including material and energy balances, thermodynamics, chemical equilibria, heat, mass and momentum transfer, chemical reaction engineering, continuous and stagewise separation operations, process dynamics, statistics and control. The curriculum ranges from elementary design principles in material and energy balances to the capstone senior process design and process control sequence by employing advanced computer process and control simulators and experimental control systems.

Our Bachelor of Fine Arts in theatre design and technology offers a practical foundation in all areas of theater production, including lighting, sound, costume design, technical direction, and construction. You’ll have opportunities to apply new technical and conceptual knowledge in hands-on production work. You’ll work with national and international guest artists as well as travel nationally and internationally to attend workshops and exhibitions.
