Through hands-on exposure to a variety of computer systems, tools and techniques, the Bachelor of Computer Science program provides excellent preparation for students seeking careers in software-related computing fields. Geography is a broad synthesizing discipline that studies humans and the Earth by focusing on the themes of place and space. Geography is therefore not an encyclopedic listing of capital cities, mountains and rivers, but rather an understanding of the causes, effects, implications, and importance of these and other features. As Geography is so broad, it is often studied as a number of separate but closely related sub-disciplines, notably physical geography and human geography, and also regional geography (Area Studies), topical geography and geographic techniques (Geomatics).

The Department offers the Organismal Biology major leading to the Bachelor of Science degree.  The curricula for this major is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in biology as well as providing the opportunity for specialization. This program also provides a strong preparation for further study in graduate programs or in professional schools, including medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine and other allied health fields.

Computer engineering emphasizes design, implementation and maintenance of hardware and software components of modern computing systems, computer-controlled equipment, and networks of intelligent devices.

The Master of Science in CSSE provides both online and on-campus students an opportunity for advanced learning and creative research. Students will further their education through a balanced program in both instruction and research with the goal of achieving excellence in the field of computer science and software engineering. On-campus students may choose the thesis or non-thesis option. Online students can choose a non-thesis (courses only) or, with special permission from the department, the thesis option. They will be able to specialize in areas such as artificial intelligence, computer networks, cybersecurity, databases and data science, human/computer interaction and machine learning.

The Hospitality Management (HOSP) program provides a strong educational foundation and excellent career preparation for students interested in the premium service segment of the hospitality industry. The HOSP curriculum offers a variety of courses and unique experiential learning opportunities designed to prepare our graduates to pursue successful management and/or entrepreneurial opportunities in the hotel/lodging, restaurant, event planning, culinary, country club, foodservice or beverage industries.

The Event Management Option is designed to attract students pursuing careers in the multi-faceted and ever-evolving commercial, and non-commercial Meetings, Incentive, Conference and Events (MICE) sector. As is the case both nationally and globally, the events sector now makes a significant contribution to the socio-economic wellbeing of the state of Alabama and the nation. Over recent decades, public, private and voluntary sector businesses (including those in the education sector) throughout the state and beyond have been outsourcing social and business events such as meetings, incentive travel, conferences and events (MICE). This program is designed to position Auburn University to keep pace with this emerging economic sector by educating the trained professionals needed to meet the continuing demands of the state’s and nations ever-developing hospitality industry and in particular those interested in pursuing a career in the event management field.

Biomedical science combines the fields of biology and medicine in order to focus on the health of both animals and humans. As a biomedical science major, you'll study biochemical and physiological functions, anatomical and histological structures, epidemiology, and pharmacology.

Are you interested in pressing cultural, political, and social issues such as health care, the environment, and civil rights? If so, then our Bachelor of Arts in political science may be for you. Our program integrates the humanities and social sciences to examine political processes, systems, and dynamics across the globe. You’ll learn about American government, comparative politics, international relations, political theory, and public law. In addition, you’ll gain valuable analytical, oral, and written communication skills.

Our Bachelor of Arts degree in art is a studio-based degree that teaches you both art theory and skills in photography, printmaking, painting, ceramics, and more.
