Optional Practical Training or OPT is a period during which students, who have completed their degrees in the USA, are permitted to work for one year on a student visa by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). OPT allows students to work for up to 3 years and develop real-world skills to survive in the competitive jobs market.
It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.
A student can participate in three types of Optional Practical Training (OPT):

Undergraduate Extended Accelerator Pathway (3-Term) - Bachelor of Business Administration in Business Analytics
The Bachelor of Business Administration degree prepares graduates to think critically, solve problems and lead with confidence. This broad-based program teaches important business fundamentals across environments and industries both in the U.S. and globally. You'll learn how goods and services are produced, financed and marketed; the impact of external forces on business success; basics of accounting and quantitative methods, plus an introduction to organizational theory and communication and leadership decision-making.
Business Analytics
Undergraduate business students opting to pursue a BBA in Business Analytics (BA) will gain a solid foundation in the application of statistical methods, techniques, and tools to large datasets. The program provides students with the background needed to applying statistical methods and techniques through use of decision support systems (DSS), expert systems (ES), business intelligence (BI) reporting tools, and business analytics (BA) data mining tools. Graduates will be prepared for entry-level business analytics and reporting positions.

There are two tracks available in the upper division program for B.S. in Computer Science. The Computer Science (CS) track should be followed by the student who intends to continue on to graduate study in computer science. The Software Design and Development (SDD) track may be followed by the student who intends to pursue a software engineering career. This section explains the requirements for the Computer Science track.
