The School of Accounting at FIU educates students to achieve great success in today’s accounting industry. The program provides the most current knowledge and emphasizes the skills needed for success in public, private and government sectors—and to pursue an advanced degree. The Bachelor of Accounting program curriculum includes comprehensive technical competencies, as well as important professional capabilities, including verbal and written business communication skills.

In today’s world, smart devices communicate with each other. Smart phones, smart watches and smart homes are collectively referred to as the Internet of Things (IoT). FIU’s Bachelor of Science in IoT will transform a student into a technological expert who can manage, program, maintain and secure IoT devices in many critical areas such as energy, transportation, health, aviation, infrastructure and hospitality. This program will provide expertise in the following four pillars: hardware, software, wireless communications and cybersecurity & privacy.

Civil engineering is one of the oldest of the engineering disciplines. It involves the planning, design, construction, operation and maintenance of buildings, highways, railways, bridges, airports, seaports, and other structures of modern society. Given the global need for rebuilding, maintaining and further developing infrastructures, the demand for civil engineers has never been greater. Our civil engineering graduates can choose from a broad spectrum of career opportunities in industry, government and private consulting.

Our Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry program prepares the student for graduate study or a professional career as a biochemist in industry, in government service or in secondary school teaching.

Our Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy emphasizes effective and critical reading, writing and speaking. The study of philosophy deals with the interpretation of texts, the balanced exposition and examination of issues, the construction and appraisal of arguments and explanations, and the criticism of doctrines and thoughts commonly taken for granted.

Our Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry prepares students for careers in pharmacy, medicine, forensic science, dentistry, environmental studies, veterinary medicine, secondary science education or patent law.

The Bachelor of Business Administration degree prepares graduates to think critically, solve problems and lead with confidence. This broad-based program teaches important business fundamentals across environments and industries both in the U.S. and globally. You'll learn how goods and services are produced, financed and marketed; the impact of external forces on business success; basics of accounting and quantitative methods, plus an introduction to organizational theory and communication and leadership decision-making.

Business Administration in Management
Whether you want to manage people, lead a business unit or shape your company's strategy, the management degree will provide you with the solid foundation you need to succeed. Graduates will emerge ready to effectively plan and organize, and fulfill leadership roles. You may choose a general management course of study, or pursue the major with a track in entrepreneurship, green management, leadership or change management.

The B.A in Computer Science (CS) is intended for students targeting a career in the computing field. The program provides a solid foundation in Computer Science blended with an interdisciplinary field of their choices such as Digital Media, Business, Economics and more and permits flexible elective courses to be taken outside of the

Discipline.Technology has influenced every industry as digital breakthroughs proliferate the working world. The evolution of computers has enabled most industries to increasingly rely on computing, digital information and database management as well as programming. Our undergraduate and graduate degree programs in computer science provide strong and advanced skills in computer science including computer organization and architecture, data structures and related algorithms, and programming languages plus technical skills and application of technology.

We offer the Bachelor of Science in Social Work (BSSW) degree to select individuals who meet the prerequisite criteria. The program prepares students for generalist practice social work with individuals, groups, communities, and organizations.
