Apparel Design: Learn about the construction and design aspects of the fashion industry for the consumer market.

Economics is the study of how people choose to use resources. These can include the time and talent people have available; the land, buildings, equipment, and other tools on hand; and the knowledge of how to combine them to create useful products and services. Economics will provide you with analytical skills and a breadth of economic understanding that prepares you for a career in business or government or for further study in economics, law, or public policy.

Management will help you explore the many facets of organizational behavior, industrial and labor relations, as well as an appreciation and understanding of global management practices, among others. You can pursue these areas further through the human resource management concentration, international management concentration, or strategic leadership concentration.

Here you will learn about energy and matter, electromagnetism, quantum mechanics, the birth of the universe, and Einstein’s special theory of relativity. Medical Physics
This is for students interested in careers in medical physics and health physics or those intending to pursue a physics degree as a pre-med student. In this concentration you will take courses in chemistry, biology, and kinesiology, as well as core physics and specialized medical physics courses.

From companion animals to livestock, study all aspects of the animal industries, including production, processing, and nutrition, as well as care of companion animals and preparation for veterinary school. Hands-on learning, faculty-led research opportunities, and real-world experience prepare you for exciting and challenging careers.

Pre-veterinary Medicine: Through a partnership with the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine, students majoring in animal, dairy, and poultry sciences or natural resource ecology and management have the opportunity to participate in the 3+1 program. This allows you to use your first year of veterinary school credits toward your final year in the College of Agriculture, giving you the opportunity to earn both a BS and DVM degree in seven years.

In this program, you can expect to gain a wide-ranging view of world issues while focusing on a particular geographic region or areas such as global diplomacy. In international studies, you will also have opportunities to participate in study abroad programs and develop in-depth knowledge of the languages and cultures of your chosen area.

• Middle East: The concentration in the Middle East focuses on the religion, politics, art, and literature of the Middle East and North Africa. The concentration includes the Arab world, as well as important bordering states such as Turkey and Iran. This is a region with a rich history and tradition which has been a preoccupation of recent United States foreign policy.

Petroleum engineers design and manage drilling and production operations around the world wherever oil and natural gas is found. This may take place in the Arctic, jungles, oceans, or even in shale formations here in the United States. Petroleum engineers thoroughly study geologic and engineering data in order to design drilling and production operations that maximize production rates and reservoir recovery. As a petroleum engineer, you might move to field, district, area, staff, and chief petroleum engineering positions. Women's, Gender, & Sexuality Studies
Women’s and gender studies examines the roles that gender plays in everyday life. Courses examine topics such as women in culture and history; gender and race, class, and sexuality; gender in literature, politics, the law, and the sciences.

With a field that’s as broad as life itself, the biological sciences major gives you ample exposure to help you figure out where you belong within this area of study. Upon graduation you will be well prepared for placement in graduate school; medical, dental, optometry, pharmacy, or veterinary school; and in careers that range from public health to environmental science.
