Kinesiology is the study of human movement and the practice of helping people understand how their body performs, how to maintain proper physical health, and how to maximize their body's potential.

From companion animals to livestock, study all aspects of the animal industries, including production, processing, and nutrition, as well as care of companion animals and preparation for veterinary school. The major has a low teacher-student ratio, so small classes are guaranteed. Graduates are prepared for employment and post-graduate study. Those choosing post-graduate study are ready for pre-med, pre-law, pre-dental, pre-vet, pre-Masters of Public Health, and pre-disciplinary graduate study. Those entering the workforce have many career options. If you have a demonstrated strength in science, math, complex problem-solving, and enjoy field work, then this is the degree path for you.

Applied Coastal Environmental Science (ACES): ACES is geared toward students who plan on employment in industries with coastal environmental risks, NGO’s, academia, or government agencies.

The Bachelor of Music prepares you for a career as a professional musician or composer. It also serves as the gateway to graduate-level studies in music.

Dairy Production: Learn about animal and dairy sciences with a focus on dairy cattle production.

Establish a solid foundation for your career by focusing on the drivers of marketing, including the trends that cause existing and new markets to develop. You will have the chance to enroll in innovative courses such as “Marketing on the Internet” and “Sports Marketing.” Additionally, the department participates in the International Business Seminars program, allowing students to travel to Europe and learn best business practices from several firms and companies.

Marketing Analytics: With classroom exposure and real-world experience through an analytics practicum or internship, the marketing analytics concentration equips students with the practical knowledge and skillsets necessary to make data-driven decisions. Students will be able to integrate their knowledge of economics, decision science, marketing research, consumer behavior, and statistics that can inform marketing strategies, tasks, and decisions.

Classical Civilization
You are intrigued by the accomplishments and foundations of knowledge that arose from ancient cultures.

Study everything from the chemistry of groundwater to seismic interpretation of Earth’s subsurface. You can also enjoy a six-week field course at LSU’s field camp in the Rocky Mountains. A degree in geology from LSU will prepare you for a graduate degree program or a career in the energy or environmental industries.

Environmental Geology
Uses geological principles to solve environmental problems. This concentration provides a solid foundation in mineralogy, petrology, structural geology, and sedimentology, as well as basic courses in biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics.

Information systems and decision sciences professionals are among the highest paid recent college graduates with a top starting salary ranging from $50,000 to $65,000. The Department of Information Systems & Decision Sciences offers two constantly updated concentrations: information technology, for students interested in designing, programming, and testing website applications and building database systems; and business intelligence, for students interested in analytics.
