The Bachelor of Music prepares you for a career as a professional musician or composer. It also serves as the gateway to graduate-level studies in music.

Information systems and decision sciences professionals are among the highest paid recent college graduates with a top starting salary ranging from $50,000 to $65,000. The Department of Information Systems & Decision Sciences offers two constantly updated concentrations: information technology, for students interested in designing, programming, and testing website applications and building database systems; and business intelligence, for students interested in analytics.

Economics is the study of how people choose to use resources. These can include the time and talent people have available; the land, buildings, equipment, and other tools on hand; and the knowledge of how to combine them to create useful products and services. Empirical Economic Analysis: Learn how to define and analyze economic problems using algebraic and statistical methods, and to identify the benefits and costs of a global economy.

Study the nature and treatment of problems with speech, language, and hearing. You will learn about the linguistic, developmental, physiological, and acoustic aspects of oral communication and will be prepared for the advanced training necessary for certification in fields such as speech language pathology and audiology.

Actuarial Science
About two-thirds of all actuaries work for life, health, and property/casualty insurance companies. Actuarial responsibilities in these fields generally include making sure that companies properly define and carefully evaluate the insurance risk, charge a fair price to assume the risk, and have an efficient system to pay claims and expenses as they occur while operating profitably as a business.

This major prepares you to teach music in elementary, middle, and high schools. The program offers a comprehensive curriculum that fulfills requirements for students to earn a K-12 Louisiana teaching license upon graduation.

Computer science involves programming computing devices, creating information systems, engineering new products, visualizing and creating imagery, working with data infrastructure and networks, and protecting information through cybersecurity Concentrations include cloud computing and networking, computer science and a second discipline, cybersecurity, data science and analytics, and software engineering. Many graduates go on to become software engineers/developers, but other job titles include cybersecurity specialist, network designer, entrepreneur, web developer, and more.
