• Asia: The concentration in Asia focuses on the religion, politics, history, art, and literature of South and East Asia. This is a huge and diverse region encompassing the majority of the world’s population. The region includes important industrialized economies such as Japan, newly prosperous states like Korea, and nations undergoing or poised for rapid economic growth such as China and India. With such economic importance and potential, and a number of unresolved territorial disputes, U.S. policy has recently begun to pivot towards a greater focus on Asia.

Biological Engineering is a diverse field that provides opportunities for students to pursue a wide variety of occupations in industries, including pharmaceuticals, healthcare, prosthetics, food processing, environmental consulting, and precision farming. In our degree students are constantly tasked with adapting to new and dynamic situations. Focus areas include biomedical, bioenvironmental, bioprocessing, or biomechanical. Many graduates go on to medical school or graduate school, but others will work in consulting, government agencies, biomedical firms, or even technical sales.

From companion animals to livestock, study all aspects of the animal industries, including production, processing, and nutrition, as well as care of companion animals and preparation for veterinary school. Hands-on learning, faculty-led research opportunities, and real-world experience prepare you for exciting and challenging careers.

Dairy Production: Learn about animal and dairy sciences with a focus on dairy cattle production.

This major emphasizes a hands-on approach to understanding human behavior and offers exceptional preparation for graduate study in psychology or medical school. You can develop the skills you need in areas such as biological, clinical, cognitive, and school psychology. The department also has an extremely active honors program through which you can work with faculty mentors on meaningful research.

Management will help you explore the many facets of organizational behavior, industrial and labor relations, as well as an appreciation and understanding of global management practices, among others. You can pursue these areas further through the human resource management concentration, international management concentration, or strategic leadership concentration.

If you enjoy bringing life to a creative thought, you may find your niche in studio art. Choose a focus in two- or three-dimensional art, such as ceramics and sculpture, painting and drawing, photography, or printmaking. Become familiar with a number of art techniques and the major achievements in the history of art. Gain an understanding of contemporary thinking about art and design, and learn to make valid assessments of quality in design projects and works of art. Studio artists are creative problem solvers who enjoy experimentation, are self-disciplined, and visually aware.

Kinesiology is the study of human movement and the practice of helping people understand how their body performs, how to maintain proper physical health, and how to maximize their body's potential.

The program is directly tied to the growing film industry in Louisiana and its need for highly skilled artists, technicians, and administrative personnel.

Experimental Music and Digital Media- Expand your interest in computer music, experimental music, music technology, and digital media to the next level and journey toward opportunities in electronic music and digital media. Combining music, technology, and science, you can participate in such activities as the Louisiana Mobile App Orchestra and the Laptop Orchestra of Louisiana.
