This curriculum is diverse with opportunities to study forest management of hardwood and pine forests, wetlands, wildlife, conservation biology, fisheries, aquaculture, habitat management, or prepare for a career as a wildlife-oriented veterinarian. Curricula emphasizes field instruction. Unique facilities available through this curriculum include the School of Renewable Natural Resources’ Lee Memorial Forest, an actively managed forest, which has accommodations and teaching facilities so that you can get hands-on experience in the field.

Forest Enterprise: Learn about the business aspects of forestry and wood products. Forestry is the largest agricultural sector in Louisiana, and forest products and enterprises contribute greatly to local, state, and national economies.

Agricultural & Extension Education
This broad-based curriculum encompasses all areas of agriculture and offers you unique opportunities for professional and leadership development, hands-on learning across the state, and participation in faculty-led research. Available concentrations will prepare you for teaching in secondary schools or for careers in extension, business, government, or industry.

Teaching in Formal Education
Develop your agricultural knowledge and skills through teaching; supervise agriculture experiences, teach students in both formal and informal settings, and advise FFA and other agriculture organization chapters.

The Bachelor of Music prepares you for a career as a professional musician or composer. It also serves as the gateway to graduate-level studies in music.

In this program, you can expect to gain a wide-ranging view of world issues while focusing on a particular geographic region or areas such as global diplomacy. • Latin America: The concentration in Latin America focuses on the history, folklore, culture, and literature of Latin America and the Caribbean. The close proximity of this region to the United States and our long history of interactions with the area make it a very important area for U.S. foreign policy and for American commercial interests. The stark disparities of economic conditions and environmental endowments across the Americas draw attention to the need for sustainable development.

Art History
You like to visit art galleries whenever you have a chance to gaze upon the works of great artists.

Learn in a setting where native speakers are all around you. One of only 15 U.S. programs recognized by the French government as a Centre d’Excellence, our Department of French Studies can help you develop a command of the language, and introduce you to French-speaking cultures around the world, including Louisiana’s own.

From companion animals to livestock, study all aspects of the animal industries, including production, processing, and nutrition, as well as care of companion animals and preparation for veterinary school. • Asia: The concentration in Asia focuses on the religion, politics, history, art, and literature of South and East Asia. This is a huge and diverse region encompassing the majority of the world’s population. The region includes important industrialized economies such as Japan, newly prosperous states like Korea, and nations undergoing or poised for rapid economic growth such as China and India. With such economic importance and potential, and a number of unresolved territorial disputes, U.S. policy has recently begun to pivot towards a greater focus on Asia.

The child and family studies undergraduate degree at LSU combines elements of psychology and sociology with an applied focus that prepares students for an array of human services professions across the lifespan. In addition to course work, engaging in hands-on service-learning opportunities and two field internships prepares students to improve the lives of individuals and families.
